Hi All,
Thought I better put something together after my experience with HIDS from the following ebay seller (seller has been very amicable on returns and refund)
Do not buy HIDS from this seller on ebay:
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Ultra-Vision-HID
The HIDS tend to flicker and go out whilst driving. I had 2 sets and both did the same, countless others on here have had the same problem.
The box and ballast look like below so you can be assured if you got the kit you know what they are like.
The best advice I have seen and all credit to dmmsta for this:
MYDEPOTS (http://www.manyadeal.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=65_66&zenid=fo85b2lftruupddbj9r8k8pp0c47n87t)
They are a little more expensive that the eBay option, but the only thing that I had a problem with was that 1 set came with the wrong bulb type. Once they had verified they were incorrect they sent me the right bulbs, and I didn't have to sent the old ones back...which was nice!
I've had mine in for over 18 months with no failures of any kind (runs to nearest tree...)
A lot of people have used this place on eBay:
Diane-Shop (http://stores.ebay.co.uk/diane-shop)
Mostly positive reviews with the occasional problem, but from what I've read it's all been resolved quickly and efficiently.
HIDS4u (http://www.hids4u.co.uk/store/home.php)
UK based and bit pricier, but are highly recommended on here, remember to search google for a discount code as they heavily discount at the mo!!

Is this helpful to peeps?

Nice post Funkyfin2000.
Why go to all the trouble of selling duff kits, unless they are the rejects of the HID production line?

dholdi any news on urs? im waiting for refund! :()
I got a set of H4 hids from HIDs4u yesterday. Just fitting them now to the van. Initial tests show them as a good piece of kit, but the usual feck on trying to get them to fit my particular vehicle. Usually all the connections go inside the headlight and are hermetically sealed with grommets but the Berlingo has a slightly different setup and the main bulb connector remains outside the seal (so to speak). I'm just in the process of waterproofing it so that it doesn't blow or corrode.
Good service, reasonable price, quality kit, H4 Hi/Lo bulbs so I still get both beams.
Recommended by Viking anyway. [B)]

TOYOTA PRO is the discount code to use with HIDS4U as well!
What discount does that give you?
Funkyfin2000
29-11-2008, 10:56
10% i think...
Then that's a poor discount. I have one for 30% on H7 kits and 33% on H4 kits.
It's through another forum, and I don't want to just dole it out all over the place so if anyone wants the code then you can ask me which forum to sign up to.
 Is that fair mods?

Just got this kit fitted from hids4u and its a FANTASTIC kit! Really well built. Got the slimline ballasts, pity that the ballasts are slim but there is an extra box on the wiring that you have to try and mount somewhere!!!! :(
Think we have got to realise that all these "cheap kits" that you buy on ebay are a gamble, they are cheap for a reason, for example, i bought my first kit from Diane Shop, and they packed up shortly after, and ive also bough a kit from the place that you say dont buy from, and so far they are ok. So you pay your money and take your chance, but i would say that the quality of the kit from that place is 100% better from diane shop

You are right mate exactly, although i believe there could be an issue with my car, 2 kits from ebay did the bulb issue im having and now straight an issue with the hids4u im having the same problem, one of the bulbs out and then the other out. Very odd problem! Waiting to see what hids4u say.
Althought used it in the dark tonight with no probs at all!
Mrs holdi got me a set from hids4u for my birthday recently. Fortunately she knows what a kid I can be with things like this so didnt make me wait till my birthday to install them. They have been excellent to date ( 3 weeks ). They are the normal type ballast h7r.

nice dude.
ive still had nothing from that ebay bloke, what a knob....
Loving the hids4u, just a bit perturbed by only one lamp working first thing, then turned off both worked, then tried again and the other bulb off.
Hids4u have asked if i turned them on when engine was off or on, so awaiting their feedback from there!

how much more Lee?
seriously tempted to get some although should really be saving my cash at the mo!
Ebay kits are less than £40 now, even sellers in the uk for next day delivery are £50 or less.
Ebay kits are way less good than HIDs4u, though. ;)
in all honest, my £40 ebay kit (from the uk) has been great! i would buy from there again.

like anything it depends which buyer you use, labelling all ebay HIDS rubbish is way off the mark
Okay. My experience is that Ebay kits are way less good than HIDs4u. Others might think differently.
That better...

like most things buy cheap buy twice.
i have seen the diana shop kits and in there defence the kits are quite good qualiy they just dont do 5000k hids which is why i chose hids4u and i havent regreted it.
