View Full Version : Tuning a Leon Cupra for more horse's
Howdy all,
As above, I have a '51' Leon Cupra, and being new to the seen would like to ask some questions, well one really - what's the best course of action for tuning the leon, for a bit more poke, as i see a few people on here have around 240BHP ;)
All I have done is put on a K&Ni Induction kit.
All comments and help greatly appreciated. :D
Cheers
1. Pick up phone
2. Ring Jabbasport
3. Go to Jabbasport
4. Leave jabbasport with insane grin on face :)

Be very careful if you re oil the K&N not to over do it as they have been known to cause problems with the MAF sensor.
Cheers guys,
Anything in particular i should be asking for at Jabbasport, ie chip etc, and whot sort of prices am i looking at?
Also, will the K&Ni being doing more harm than good then? and should i remove it? or is this only if i go down the road of more mods?
Cheers
P.S. does anyone have the Tel No for jabbasport????

K&N should be OK if you've not had any problems so far. Jabbasports details are www.jabbasport.com (funnily enough :D )
Others to consider for chipping include Revotechnik, AMD & APR although all are more expensive than Jabbasport.
Yup, 01733 211779 - they also have a website.
You want a chip (re-map) which is 425ukp. If you want to switch back to stock-like boost levels then get a boost controller as well which is 115ukp. You may want to do this to avoid warranty problems for example (works fine for me).
Jabba are about the best tuner out there for performance; but REVO make a 'generic' map product that doesn't require changing of the car's engine ECU chip. This is undetectable to insurers and dealers - so if that's your priority go with that. Personally, i have had no problems with my dealer and Jabba chip - you can only tell if you open the ECU (which frankly, doesn't happen 99.9% of the time). I did declare mine with the insurer tho for peace of mind.
REVO is also a heck of a lot more expensive btw (and they're prices don't include VAT on their website - watch for that!).

Cheers guys
Right, I'm off to make some enquiries :D
Oh, and one other thing - don't go to jabba with poor fuel - if you're not already, start running on optimax (Shell) as it makes the car run a heck of a lot better (and Jabba will tune the car for the better fuelling).
