Well i'm borrowing my mums car for my trip to Cornwall and i thoug i'd let you know how it drives. It's a very comfy car, very airy with lots of space for drver and passenger, small boot, but hey its not the tardis.

The driving position is a bit too laid back, you can't get the seat back up high enough and as the steeing wheel doesn' have reach adjustment, then with my 6ft frame you really are stretching to get at th driving wheel. However due to the stupid lightness of the power steering you only need to be able to reach the wheel with the tip of your finger to stear. The steering itself is light and fluffy, direct but wth no feedback a all from the road. You get a bit of tourqe steer but not much else.

The accerator is very on off, not much movement range and th same is
true of the brake pedal. Th clutch however is fine after a while. The hand brak is a pain as you have to bend down to use it.

The gear box is nice and the tall gearstick is very nice to use. The 1.6 VTEC lump is quite nice, quite tourqy in the low ranges and has a nice growl in the VTEC ranges. It won't set your pants on fire (thats left to the stupidly hot heated seats) but its no slouch either. The handling is quite nice, you get very little body roll (although this being my mums car i have hardly pushed it) and it rides th bumps well. However with such littl feedback from the car pushing it is a game of chance rater than skill.

Manureving it can be problematic due to the fact that the car feels so big and also that you can't see the end of the bonnet.

Overall, its a nice mumsy car, pity i'm going to have to drive 600miles in it.
