been wondering about my clutch lately, after curborough and a few other occasions:devil: , i wonder if there is any point in getting an uprated clutch, dunno much about them, my current one seems to be really picky as to how far it must be pressed to get a clean change, my last couple of cars were always a lot more forgiving.
so does anyone have or ever heard of a 16v engine with an uprated clutch, if so , what make was it and any comments, cheers !!!!!

I had a Sachs uprated clutch on my 2l. 8v mk1 golf. They are very good but tend to be like "on and off" switch's.
I think this is due to the higher clamping pressure they give.
Not anymore forgiving tho.

its strage, but also since lowering my car, the throttle is a lot more jumpy in first when going over bumps at traffic, already know the answer to this one but im already on the look out for decent prices for eibach/billie setups.
brendy ebc do a fast road clutch i think the clutch is a 210mm vw jobber but i'm sure someone will put me right on that one ,mine has slipped a bit recently but that could be me riding it, do they self adjust anyone ?

dont know if i'll bother with ebc anymore, the pads are ok , but the turbo grooved and drilled discs are vibrating like feck!!! no , they arnt warped either!!
mine are fine m8 mind would the cordy being heavier have an effect?

the cordy is only 4---70 kilos heavier, so it wouldnt make a difference, does your car do it with a passenger?
i haven't had any probs with mine m8 with me me missus me daughter groceries and a slab of stella and apush chair i've had nothnig wrong with them apart from initial cold spot on breaking and cooking fluid @curby:cheers:

SACHS do a "Power Clutch", I think they call it. Check whether they do one for your car.
I use a Helix clutch on my modded 16v, which comprises GpN Pressure plate and 4 puck sprung paddle centre plate. Works a treat, but is heavier and less progressive on take up. It has'nt broken though like my other 6 standard SACHS units though!!!!
