For you peeps out there with the oil burner..

You can chip the bugger to 130bhp if you wanted!!!!

And you will have more torque than my chipped 20VT!!! Can't go wrong with that..and you'll still have 40+mpg!!!

Sounds good!
I have a TDi 110 (Leon SE) but it's less than a week old. Has anybody chipped their TDI to 130bhp then?
What about the effects on engine life etc.

Are any other performance mods worth considering such as exhaust and air filters etc?

I was followed by a leon TDI along the A272 a few weeks ago. WELL impressed - in gear acceleration brilliant - kept up with me overtaking traffic no problems and on cornering. Not sure which engine it had - hope it was at least 110. Lost it on the straight - should do with 177bhp. Hmm anyone know where to get a supercharger for a 16 valver? (Mutter mutter....)

How come I never noticed this forum before.....????

Flapper - are you talkin about YOU chipping it? If so, can you give details...?

My current plan (when car arrives from Holland) is Upsolute chip, which gives a reliable 143hp / 215lbs.ft. Read LOADS of good reports on this on TDICLUB.....only disadvantage is that they don't have UK distributor, so need to send your ECU out to Belgium. Still....at only £210 for the conversion, you can send UPS next-day and still fork out less than £300.

(Incidentally, they also do a 180hp (with about 265lbs/ft) upgrade for the TDI150 which will be available in RHD approx Q2 2002.......and it still goes 50+mpg).
