View Full Version : TDi 150
Does anyone have any performance figures for the TDi 150 engines?
I'm thinking about importing one although i'm not sure if you can get them in right hand drive?
Also do these engines have a 5 or 6 speed gearbox?
thanks
This has been discussed a few times ~ try a search in this and Leon forums for all the info.
Performance figs ~ you'll get them at www.seat.com (tech spec)
6-speed box
RHD?......not yet. Europe gets TDI150 in FWD and Cupra4 varients. Seat have always said Cupra4 TDI150 will NOT come to UK, but they keep changing their minds about the FWD TDI150 (which comes with UK Cupra 16" multispokes). Last I heard UK realease due Q1 '02.....but suggest you call them to verify. You're unlikely to get a RHD import 'til UK date released.
When I picked up my car in Holland there was a gorgeous black TDI150 Cupra4 in LHD wating for a UK customer to collect....
150hp/4000 and 320Nm/1900
Having owned a 110 GT TDI Ibiza, I can tell you that my 150 Toledo has tons more torque, starts pulling and goes like sh#t after 1500 til 4000 (like the beeza dies off after 4000-4250). The 6spd gear box is also quite good for highway driving (167km@3000rpm).
Downside: IMHO
1- the 150s a bit noisier than the 110 (standing in front of the car).
2- Consumptions up about 1.2l/100km when compared with the 110hp (presently 6.5l/100km).
3- During moring warmup (I let the car warmup to 3-4 minutes before leaving home) after about 1.5-2 minutes I get a strange engine vibration which goes away after 30 to 40 seconds -- This just might be a problem on my car, have to check with dealer.
4- If you don't get TCS or ESP better start buying stock in Michelin or Goodyear :D :D (flying down any fast (quick) on-ramps or off-ramps with bends will cause the TCS/ESP to light up like a Xmas tree. And that's on 205/55 rubber):
136mph
0-60 = 8.6 secs
Thats all i know:D

You better feel sorry for me then:( I haven't got TCS or ESP, and my 205/60 15 Falkens are absolutly s**t:(
My TCS system is called "lift right foot, and re-apply" :D
