no power

ibiza tdi 90,has developed wheezing noise when under even the lightest loads and throttle movement and no power at all.
It struggles to rev to 4000revs with the engine getting noisey and the ever present wheezing getting louder.A call to seat diognosed a faulty maf but would this explain the noise of the turbo spinning itself silly with no effect.Also has anybody had unfavourable dealings with amethyst as i am in dispute with them at the moment and would like to hear from anybody else badly treated.:cheers:

Sounds like a leaky tube. you'd unlike be able to hear this with someone revving the engine with your head under the bonnet.

might be worth tracing the leak the old puncture in an inner tube way & get some water & spray it on the hoses from the turbo to the intercooler & intercooler to the inlet

Thanks Mark you were right,but the tube wasnt just leaking it had come away from its connection!bloody fiddly to get back on though!!
It seems every body running turbo powered Seats on this site have had to replace the MAF sensor,like my local dealer had advised to cure my problem:is this a good little earner for the boys?

yeah as long as there are no gliches it good to dealers.
they get paid less than you would pay to have it done.
and they cant charge over book time for it. so if somethings a bitch to get off. they dont get paid for it.
but they have to do it any way.

Cheers Danny but i think u missed the point i was making about the amount of Seats on this site that have had their air flow meters replaced.
