Yesterday I took my parents to test drive a Toledo V5 to try and convince them to buy one. I ended up almost buying it myself.

I reckon with some nice wheels and perhaps some Leon bumpers/side skirts it'll look mint. Plus a decent exhaust to amplify that fantastic engine note. Does anyone have any pictures so I can play with Photoshop and convince myself further?

Also my parents were convinced that it was smaller inside than their current Focus. I must admit the rear leg room is pretty limited and the Leon seemed to be better. Has anyone else found this? Do the big comfy electric arm chairs take up more space?

If you follow the link at the bottom of my signature, you can see pics of mine.
You can get the Leon stuff, but the rear bumper is a bit different on the toledo.

Lots of pictures on the SEAT websites (including .co.uk) you could play around with.

Don't know how it compares to a LEON but yes, rear of a V5 is for people with very skinny legs and the ability to perform some fancy footwork upon entry and exit.

Much more comfy in the boot :D

Cheers people. Parents are still quite tempted. The dealer has a 99 150BHP model with memory seats and foldy mirrors but no sat nav, and a 02 170BHP without memory seats, foldy mirrors but has air con. Both silver. Decisions, decisions! I only drove the 170 one but the dealer said there's no difference.

I've decided to work on getting them to buy one instead of me buying it myself as that way I still get to drive it but I can keep my Ibiza too which I don't really want to get rid of.

Erm....There is a difference.
I have had a 150 and now have a 170 (both silver).

The 2 engines are completly different beasts. Apart from the 170 obviously being quicker, the 150 is a smooth refined torquey number where as the 170 revs like a right bu**er.

150's didn't have TCS and are cable throttle where as the 170 is fly by wire.

Yeah but there's about £3k difference in the price. You'd have thought he would push to sell the more expensive one.

The one I drove did seem pretty willing to rev to the limiter for such a big engine. Although being used to the low down torque of the 8v, I might prefer the 150BHP one if I drive it.
