Andy's been off ill for about 2 months. He apologises if anybody found it difficult to get hold of him but there was nothing much he could do.

On the good side he is back and well and has said to me he would like to do some Group Buy deals (6 buyers or more).

Andy suggested Bilstein suspension kits but I believe he is quite open to other products. This would be a great chance to get something at an even cheaper price than our already club-discounted prices.

If you have any ideas as to what you may want then get in touch with me edc@seatcupra.net

Yeh, I just got a price quote for something I requested in May.

I wouldn't mind doing a group buy on some more bilstein shocks (not necessarily the kit).

Does anybody intend to buy anything.... any serious suggestions on a Group Buy....

What about...

1) Ibiza Pagid discs an/or pads?

2) Leon Pagid disc and/or pads?

3) Leon strut brace, although Banshee will already do a very good price for this?

4) Air filters?

5) Springs?

Andy already has the cheapest price anywhere for Pagid (as far as I am aware and I have looked at scores of companies)

Am gonna be getting some new fornt pads and disks for my motor within the next month, and was intending on speaking with Awesome GTi for the Pagid 8 groove setup and pads with wear indicators - but depending on discount I might be swayed elsewhere...:D

Actually I plan to order a few more sets of pads from Andy next week, so maybe I should hold on them.

Ok, who's got part numbers for Leon discs and pads? I'll try and get an indicative price.

Redline is alot cheaper. Not sure about the discs, but the pads are:

FR-1154 front £34,70
FR-5075 rear £38,50

Got my information from 'Z'.

here (http://www.seatcupra.net/reviews.php?descrip=Brakes%20Leon%20Pagid%20Discs%20Pads)

As per the link:
price quoted on www.awesomegti.com/ (http://www.awesomegti.com/)

PAGID 8 Groove Discs 312mm 5 stud ( Part No: D53960-8G ) £89
PAGID Fast Road Pads with wear sensors. (Part No: FR-1154) £45

Think the price on Awesome website was £134.00 without discount which would work out at approx £120.

hope this helps...

(editted to get the proper prices from the website).

The lower leon strut brace would be nice.

I think Banshee might be able to sort you out on this. They do a top one too if you're still being messed about on that front. steve@bansheemotorsport.co.uk

Andy's been back to me and this the best deal:

To achieve these prices there must be minimum 6 buyers of the same part.

Leon:
FR1154 (front pads) £39.35 (£43.69)
FR5075 (rear pads) £37.50 (£41.62)
53960-8g £93.50 (front 8 groove discs) (£103.55)

Ibiza (Corrado G60)(fronts):
53950-8g £107.70 (£119.65)
FR5051 £27.90 (£30.95)

These prices represent an extra 10% saving on our club discount.

Email me or post here if DEFINITELY INTERESTED at this price and this time.

Deals on other products can be done. Again, Andy suggested Bilstein suspension kits or dampers (I think he can get a very good price on these).

Pretty sure the Leon is running 280mm discs, same as the ibiza 110. So I think they're the FR-5051s.

how much is carriage? daft as it sounds but if i can get 5051's @ £26+vat with no carriage, then i should do that, but if carriage is free / cheap it's worthwhile (for me)

As I understand it the MY02 TDI has 288mm discs, the Cupra 312mm, but the callipers and pads are the same. Calliper mount and disc are the only differences.

Can anyone with Ekta confirm? :dunno:

m0rk

That's for the pad

the calliper is different

Mark- just to clarify are the pads the same as the Cupra then or different- also wont be a problem using Pagid pads on a OE disc?

If the calliper is different, then the pads might be different.??

I do know for a fact that the 288mm stuff uses the same calliper as that found on the cupra 312mm setup (exactly what I did going up from 288 to 312). Not sure about MY02, but in MY01 the Leon TDI sport was definitely running 280mm disks.

andyb
10-07-2003, 17:11
ummm, nice and confusing. If Mark can confirm if the same number is for the UK Cupra/Euro Sport as the UK TDiSE/Euro TDi Sport then thats fine by me....i think

m0rk
10-07-2003, 17:13
the pads for the 288 & 312 have identical part numbers

the callipers do not so may not work

but i would say they're probably wider on the 312's

Mark,

What I was saying was that I think the 110tdi Leon comes with 280mm discs and different calipers.

The 288mm & 312mm definitely use the same pads. Everything else is the same.

Andy just needs to know exactly which disc/caliper his car uses.

280 mm brakes have different pads to 288

Carriage for a set of pads is £6.00. I also just tried it on thier online shop (for Focus pads though) and got the same. They make no money on carriage charges.

You could ask for it to be sent uninsured and get it cheaper

Yep, had originally ordered the H&R, but H&R didn't have them in stock (would take 3 weeks) so Ade got me the Eibach instead. Actually works out a bit better since it lowers the car a bit less than the H&R.

havent forgotten, well, alright I had, but I have now remembered. Only problem is the car is now in the bodyshop, but will be back for Friday.

There are two different sizes for the TDi, so I have to give a code to Martyn and Tim at MKSeat and they will confirm if mine are cupra sized

ah well, good idea in principle - just not workable now!

ps an Ibiza owner here has just saved a shed load on front discs and pads - 20% cheaper than the next cheapest supplier - these are a steal!

Yes, of course they are sold as a pair. You will have enough for your front axle. Shipping cost to Netherlands - I don't know, I am not the seller. Please contact Andy @ Redline (see discount forum).

Hi edc,

I would also like to come in on this Pagid brake deal. Disc and pads for Ibiza Cupra Dec 2000.

Please can you let me know what the postage costs are and how many grooves are on the disc. Also are they the grey/black coloured discs?

Contact Andy@Redline for a competitive quote. I'd ask Revo Kev what he thought of his Billy kit (Sprintline?). As for your other Qs there are Sprintline and Streetline kits which use different springs AFAIK. One uses Terra springs (used to be Ventura [?]) Drop may be different.

As good as a Koni kit - I don't know what good. What is 'good' for you?

cupra-lad
01-09-2003, 13:56
sorry i was a bit unclear there.

i want a kit that will lower the car alround by around 30 (witch i think will be ok with 17") and that will be good qulity and long lasting. i here so many bad reports about g-max and other such cheap makes. and i am always reading that a lot of people on here use billys kit, so i thought it must be good, but other people i have talked to, say koni is also excelent. the koni kit would cost me £440.i also here great reports about eibach as well, do they do a kit for my ibiza? i want it lower ,fimmer and top quility basically.

just wondering what people thought would be best for my car.

thanks:cheers:

edc
01-09-2003, 14:04
You can get a Koni SSK kit for less than £400 from somewhere like Larkspeed for example. Kits use Vogtland springs but I hear that new kits have changed spring make. Koni kit drop is subtle and would probably be best from what you just wrote. Revo Kev ran his billy kit on 17s I think so ask him what the score is there.

Eibach do supply spring and damper kits but maybe not for your car - check out their website for the applications.

Saul
01-09-2003, 14:27
Kev did run the billy kit to great effect with some Terra springs, i think they have now changed to Ventura which i think are softer. It went well tho, on 17"s it rubbed the front arches, but we modified them with a saw and some screws ;)

Many people have run the Bilstein kit and it is well thought of and you would not go far wrong. They do drop 40ish mm tho.

Eibach springs are IMO the best you can get, im not sure on the dampers as EDC says, but Eibach springs o say Billy shocks would be great, but a bit pricey (Springs are circa £125 alone)

Koni is good stuff, a raneg of adjustment is available on these too.
Glyn has these on his 8V and that too handles well.

Choice at the end of the day is yours, but Billy, Koni et al are all worth a shout.

I run a Spax PSX kit which is firm, but thats how i want it, you might find it a bit too much if your not prepared for it.
