that got you looking! Incase you were blinded by the words "MPV" in zboyds earlier topic,,,,

SEAT are to launch a Scenic rival towards the end of the year in Europe, so probably arrive here in 2005. It uses the platform of the new gen Audi A3, so this will also form the basis of the next generation Leon, which appears to be due around 2005.

anyway, see the main site for an exclusive pic or discuss on the other thread here http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=20118

That names been about a long time. I think that may be it's concept name?

IE - the SEAT Bolero was the forerunner of the Leon

Similar, but not (in styling)

Very possible they will name it after the concept car that has been the basis of SEAT's future car direction. That being the Salsa.

Its nothing new though, the car has been availbel as a concept to view for a long time now, in fact as far back as late 2000, in one guise or another.

Still plenty of shots on the SEAT press site, which we can access.

Being a source of information for SEAT owners by SEAT owners, the above statement is less than helpful.

No doubt we'll get the lowdown direct from the Spanish press office anyway.

Not in power either. We're missing our 2.8l V6 bi-turbo model

It would make sense for it to be called Salsa and a few enquiries have lead me to believe that this will be the case. They have pushed the "look" and also the name so much at countless motorshows and press releases that I feel it makes sense to carry the Salsa theme into production, in look and in name.

Sorry Zboyd - But I'm sure you appreciate that if some one tells you something in confidence you have to respect the wishes...
All I can say is I agree with AndyB as they have pushed the look and name... Plus on the continent we are now begining to see more defined images, of this version of a Salsa.
What more can be said we will have to wait for the offical line, but no doubt some of us will do some more digging eh AndyB...

I do appreciate it, but we are just trying to create a factual content of info on a website and forum, i prefer to back up my claims with the info, that is either available in the public domain, or from official, disclosed sources.

If we cant disclose the whereabouts of the facts for whatever reason then id rather not make the statement, even if they are proven to be correct at a later dat, as in the here and now, i feel its not been validated, and is therefore consigned to rumours.

The official line will no doubt be here before long. As i say its most likely spot on, i can't see it being called anything else as its been in the pipeline for so long anyway, makes sense really, we also have our sources :)

all the press are confirming that this is called the Altea (as I posted on another thread) and that it will be out at Frankfurt
