Leon Underside Leak

Got home from work tonight (after a good rant up the nearby dual carriage way) and noticed a wet patch trailing onto the drive behind the car. On further investigation it looks like a leak coming from somewhere under the middle/passenger side of the car (under the dash) dripping from a clip thing under the car (see attatched photo).

Don't think its petrol, not sure if its water coming from the air con. The inside of the car is dry.

Does anybody have any ideas ?

1. Washer reservoir leak (known Leon prob.) ?
2. Aircon condensation (unlikely judging from the amount of water you're talking about) ?

it could be the air con. looks like a likely place for it.
weve had cars come in with an inch of water in the footwells beacuase the pip in the kickwell has cracked. so it does produce quite a lot of water.
not sure if its as much as your describing tho.
how are your coolant and washer fluid resivouiars looking?

OK, checked the washer bottle and other round thing (on left hand side of engine, they both look OK). The dripping had stopped .... but just started her up and the dripping is back (very quickly)..

Looks like a trip to the garage ... hope its a 3yr mfr wrty...

1. Does the fluid that is dripping evaporate after a while off your drive - if so then air con

2. No air con water should go into the car it should all be deposited outside.

3. What colour is the fluid ? all other fluids are coloured and most feel oily to touch.

other possibilities - engine oil, gearbox oil, washer fluid, brake fluid, pas fluid.

In my opinion it is air con so no need to worry.

The liquid is colorless and does evapourate quickly from the drive (very hot day yestreday and today). Had a flying visit to the Dealer this morning, he took a look and said the same thing (you'd be suprised how much condensation comes off he said).

So now im not worried, althoughy why i've never seen it before is a mystery. Never mind ... now wish the office had air con ... phewww
