View Full Version : Revo playing with my mind?
I haven't been Revo'd.
I'd convinced myself that I don't need to be Revo'd - the things damn fast as it is. And after the wet few days we've had it might struggle to be a usable/tractable car if it had another 50-60 bhp.
I was going to go and get the trial "just to see what it's like".
But I know what I'm like, if I had the trial it would feel slow, when it went back to stock. So I decided not to.
It's a fair amount of money too, espcially when you add on an SPS1 AND the VAT.
Also, could I handle it on a day to day basis? In the wet, in the snow, in the dark leaf stricken roads of November. Whilst on the hands free at 6:30am in the BMW lane of the motorway. The very last thing I'd want is to stack it. Hurt someone, let alone myself.
But...
I know it's out there. I know it's easy. And you lot don't have a bad word to say about it. It's playing on my mind. Badly.
I mean, you don't have to use all the power all the time.
The cost is not that bad, I could get away without an SPS1 (especially if I can find a dealer that will turn a blind eye to the extra power).
The ESP is good, and I've done loads of advanced driver training.
Hell, the bike is faster and it's got "total contact patch not much bigger than a credit card".
Arrrrgggghhhh.
help meeee.

Don't talk to me.....I'm one of the lost boys...
Revo 98ron Optimax and no sps was all it took (oh and 499+vat)
I'm a believer now...
as is the guy in the Audi TT 225 who couldn't catch me yesterday..:)
Its not so bad in the wet at all really..just use a gear higher...:)
Its not monsterously more quick at the lower speeds but in third and fourth its like you've been transplanted a 4 litre engine..
Come on over to the dark side...

Over a three-four hour journey (quite common), you'll want the full whack for sections of it, but not for others. I don't think I'd bother pulling over to switch back to stock (APR Cruise Control switching then...)
If it is a major thing to be able to adjust boost on the fly you best speak to Jabbasport:D
MARRA says it's fantastic!

I would at least get the demo. Contact one of the Revo guys. I see Kev is on this post theres a start!
I had the 5 hour demo and it was fantastic on my R the power was fantastic.
The reason I have not upgraded the power yet is simple. I got caught speeding prior to the REVO demo and already have points so I am biding my time till they drop off.
Mark. :D
GET THE DEMO, AFTER ALL ITS FREE!
i bet ya a tenner once youve had the trial you'll want it big time! them crafty ones at revo know how to reel you in!!!!

Ohh-err I think I might have pulled...
Actually Kev, it was me you spoke to earlier - enquiring about having the demo? You said you were on your own, and I should try Stealth Racing.
Well I did, they've done it and I like it
Boy, do I like it.
Bit of a noise (sounds a bit like the transporter on star trek) pulling from 2700-3100 upwards and if you boot it in the high gears it hesitates/misses at this point in the revs. Also can be a bit hesitant on gear changes.
I read somewhere that these have gone on the full blown version?
You know what, even if the full blown version has these "glitches", it's still impressive, you can drive round the hesitation.
If anyone is interested, what Shearin said about where it pulls and how much is exactly right.
I'm sold. (although if APR release the serial port software soon, and Awesome are offering 10% off it might be a different story with the same ending)
One other thing I've noticed (I think) is ESP related. Seems as if the ESP is less intrusive/nannyish. I can actually feel some understeer hard on the power with the Revo.

It's gone, the trial has gone...
:( :( :( :( :(
Now for that difficult time...........
Shall I get the full version OR shall I get the full version NOW!
Not had anyone in tears yet, but several have been very close, followed by the question, 'when can I have the full version PLEASE!'
