What a bitch to fit!!! Everything went from bad to worse!!!! First it wouldnt go past 2000rpm cause i assume it wasnt getting any air, then i dropped the bolt for the strut down the side of the wing so the car had to be jacked and arch liner off, then i cross threaded a screw for the strut, God!
1 question u know the mettle circle piece in the elbow which end is that supposed to go cause it dont fit on induction side and wnot tight enough for Maf side?
2nd question i lied (2 questions) With standard air box the boost was going to 20/21psi now its only going to 18 in the same gear? is it not getting enough air from the arch??? Worth relocating/Cutting pipe so not so scrunched??
ta
P.S. Like I said tho bill no biggy as Sticker covered it up perfect :)

Where did you route the intake pipe?
Mine runs back through the OE foam fitment the stock pipe went thru (trimmed to make it fit)
Metal ring bit is'nt used. Sometimes they supply it & sometimes they don;t.... makes no sense.
the hoop bit supports the smaller end of the Dynatwists can and with the small bracket they supply, clamps its under one of the strut top bolts.
You need to make sure the inlet pipe is unobstructed. My Ibiza sux its inlet air for 348bhp from the same size inlet pipe routed the factory way.
The filter will take a few miles to loosen off and flow better. It gets louder too.
To force a readaption, disconnect the battery and leave a few mins, reconnect, ign on but don;t start for a few mins, then away you go.

I installed it the same way as the hurricane in the wing, Minus the foam cause i ripped it out in anger when fitting the hurricane! As far as the boost thing goes it was the same with the hurricane! It seemed to boost higher with the stock box than with both filters. hmmm.
When i spoke to AMD they advised that they had major issues with the hurricane induction kits and that they'd had loads of people back to fit the original air box, hope it's not the same with the Dynatwist.

thats the first ive heard about the hurricane being problomatic.
Are you sure it was the hurricane and not another more oiler type of induction kit like K&N messing up the Maf sensor?
what I will say is ive had the Dynatwist kit for a while now and had absolutley no probs with it.
wonder what AMD sell then.....
quality tuners *always* put down other people's products
well my dynatwist is being installed this saturday, so i'll let you all know how it goes.
cheers

The Hurricane is'nt problematic nor has it been.
What you are hearing is BS from another tuner...
Take it with a pinch of salt especially considering the "alleged" source.
Remembering the Hurricane has'nt been around for over 12 months now, being superceded by the larger Dynatwist.
Same old addage as "Induction kits kill MAF's" when the reailty is MAF's fail frequently on standard cars, but ones with induction kits get the blame as its a cop out for the dealer. Not to be confused with Heavily Oiled induction kits/filters, which can track their oil out onto the MAF elements and degrade its performance. Green Filters (incuding the previous Hurricane) and current Dynatwist have proven to be MAF friendly with 1000's of miles covered by owners (inc myself) without issue.
More or less boost from std airbox to induction kit can only be airflow related. You need to suck less g/s from a less restrictive filter than an aged paper one for example. Requested vs actual boost is independant of inlet pipe. Less suck is less speed on the turbine, hence less boost, BUT more airflow from the datalogged results. MAF input is a primary ecu input for the torque request in the mapping.

hello,
bill do you recommend using the existing path that the standard cold feed pipe takes.
Thanks

Yea.
It works for me....
The benefit was of less turbulent airflow in that area. Not a direct forward facing cold air feed tho. I moved mine many months back (year possibly) as I had surging on my cruise control which I just hated. By accident I was playing and trying different feed pipe locations and went the factory direction. CC worked perfectly afterwards with no discernable change in power. I left it there ever since.

Sorted it, Reason how I figurewd it out was the first time i installed dyna it wouldn go above 2000rpm som figured air wasnt getting to it, so I unhooked the pipe and boost was as with stock box so i figured the pipe was too long and was hitting metal or something in the wing thus obstructing airflow, So I cut the pipe in half and Viola. 20psi boost and top performance. So Notice to dynatwist users! If ya locating in the wing, Cut the pipe in half as it is too long! :)
it's done, dyna fitted, with a little help from bill and sounds blinding, the job took 1 1/2 hours and the most fiddly bit was taking the battery out, didn't bother putting the sodding battery cover back on, why's the battery need a snug jumper amyway.
Only the rattly exhaust to sort out, hope it don't fall off.
And once again thanks for your help bill.
p.s.
My car's now got a bunch of groupies, posse of about 10 teenagers.

Took me 3 hrs! Everything went wrong. First the pipe wasnt going in wing so i had to remove battery then I took strut bolt out and it fell inside the Wing! So while iyts pissing down I had to jack the car up take wheel off and arch liner off to get bolt. Then put it back together then cross threaded the bolt then finally took it on the road and pipe got stuch against metal (wasnt breathing) so had to cut it in half jack car up again and cable tie pipe into place! What a load of Hassle!!!!!
