Hi,

Need a bit of advice, Just got hold of a sub box for my boot, which i need an amp to run. What i need to know is, how easy is it to fit an amp to the Alana HU - as seen in the new shape Ibiza's?

Which connector do i run from on the back of the unit etc...

Really wanna get this sorted asap, so any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Surely you need an amp that runs off high level inputs? Therefore you will need to just plug the speaker wire into the amp.

You can buy line convertors too, that convert high level input into RCA. I have one in mine I think it's by Autoleads and it sounds pretty good.

Much better imo than using high level inputs.

OK options...

Replace the HU - Yes it's more expense but it'll sound so much better it's really worth doing...

Amp with high level inputs - Limits the amps you can use but should work well...

Use a High to low convertor - This has been done in the Mk3 Ibiza since it's not got a standard din slot. Works well IF you get a good quality convertor. Have a search on the ICECavern forum for model numbers of the good ones. They are aroung £30 for a good one.
