Hi everyone
i have a question for you guys i own a MY2003 Toledo engine code AUQ in which i installed a revo SPS2 software and forge 007 dump valve. The car is still pretty new with only 3500km run on it. I am very pleased with the revo thing the car pulls much better than stock although i cant really see a difference between the 95RON and 98RON modes. Anyway here in Greece SEAT FORCE (revo dealer)is only selling the 3 bar programm so i wanted to know what is the difference between the 3Bar and 4Bar programms and if i just change my fuel pressure regulator with 4Bar item will i have any problems and if that is going to offer anything than just higher consumption
thank you keep up the good work

Hi there,

you should find that using optimax with the 98ron program you'll get much smoother/increased power delivery.
The upgrade to the 4bar FPR lets us use more of the engines potential, there's no point in uprating to a 4bar FPR without having the 4bar specific program put in!

I would check all the VAG fuel pumps in the 20VT engined cars are going to reliably supply sustained 4bar fuel pressure.

My Ibiza one did'nt, as its fuel pumps internal pressure relief valve crept, bleeding out it delivery pressure down from 5.5bar to only just 4.5bar... and this was measured at the "pump", not allowing for any pipe or fuel filter losses getting it to the fuel rail out of the tank. Marginal to say the least on mine and Jabba's own Ibiza.

The Ibiza also had severe terminal plug corrosion on investigation, which is abysmal for a new car. Furry green terminals, which aint good for healthy current flow and low resistance.

From my own personal bad experience I am now vary wary of Ibiza fuel pumps. Mines now an other VAG model pump whcih had much higher deliver volume and pressure.

Be careful.

Thank you very much Kev the information was usefull and saved me some Euros. The question is how can i get the 4 bar program in Greece since Revo dealer Seat Force does not sell it here. By the way this guys dont even sell the SPS3 dont know if you know why please let us Greek users know. One more thing Kev i am little bit confused on how much time it takes the ECU to understand that you changed fuel and give the full programm potential i 've read something but its rather confusing so what do you have to say about it
thanks again

The 4bar FPR specific program is for use on the 150/180bhp DBW cars ie: golf, toledo, leon (not R), beetle. Not Ibiza.

I believe Seat Force don't offer the 4bar FPR or SPS 3 as they don't want people messing to much with stuff as they still give full warranty with the software.

The ECU adapts to different driving conditions, there is no set time for this procedure. However if you spent a good 1/2hr driving in various situations (around town, motorway, a roads) you should adapt the car adequately.

ok Kev i can uderstand that (for warranty reasons) they dont want to sell the SPS3 because they dont want people to mess around with boost and ignition but why not the FPR4 bar software you cant mess with that you only get a 4 bar fpr and another software. Unless this programm is not suitable for the temperature conditons in Greece (we had almost 40 degrees in Athens last week) i dont see a reason why not to sell it especially since the red Leon they are using to promote the programme to various magazines is using a 4 bar fpr.
Anyway is there a way i can get hold of the 4 bar programm through revo in england and how can i do that?

I just wanted to let you know that it is possible to get the 4 Bar program from Seat Force. If you get the 4 Bar regulator (1999 VW Passat Turbo)and go to a Seat Dealer, they can flash the program free of charge (Maybe a nominal installation fee). Revo updates are free. The SPS3 may not become available, but when you get the car dialed in, the SPS1 is all you need. Save your money for the watercooled intercoolers that are coming soon.

After talking yesterday with the manager of SEAT FORCE i confirmed that the 4bar software is now available through them free of charge.
So thank you all guys
Tamiya can you provide some more info on this watercooled intercooler you mentioned in your post cause i was getting ready to buy the Forge SMIC
