View Full Version : Scorpion fitted today!
Just fitted my new Scorpion exhaust to my Ibiza 20VT.
Must say I'm very impressed. Fitment took about 1.5 hours (DIY) and the overally fit was very good. Couple of snags but thats as much down to my inexperience then anything.
The general construction is also very good, must say I was a bit anxious after reading some of the experiences by others but very relieved on the whole.
Soundwise its perfect, a nice deep 'rumble' at idle and up to 2000rpm, not load or boomy at all.
Once the turbo cuts in there is a definite turbo whistle (which is nice).
I've yet to give the car the full monty but a quick blast round my local industrial estate showed that again its not load or boomy at high revs and has a nice turbo whoosh/howl to the tone.
Definitely recommended!
:D
ps . How the hell do I post photos?
(I've a feeling I'm being a dumb-ass)
All important question - does it feel any quicker ?? :D

Its STW 3" tailpipes. I'm trying to post pictures. Need to take some smaller ones tomorrow.
As for power dunno yet, definitely revs freer and the 1st gear pick up is a lot better.
Need to give a proper test drive tomorrow, only finished it at 4:30pm today.
what color is this? (car)

Ovni Yellow!
Must admit its a cheap camera and it looks slightly 'white-ish' in the pictures than it is in real life.

Still happy with it? What's it like at motorway speeds?
...still torn between this one and the supersprint.
Cheers,

More than happy with it! Beginning to quieten down a bit as it gets coked-up. To be honest it seems to be getting better, not even been on a week yet.
Dont do motorways much but 70+ its great.
Noticed that the car doesn't run out of breath as much at top end as it used to.
First & Second gear pick-up is 100% better, a lot smoother and revvy.
Should point out that it's not chipped (yet)!
:D
Simon, where abouts in Colchester are you?
Am thinking of changing my exhaust soon, and wouldn't mind seeing yours in the flesh..
Nick
It sounds like your having the same experience as me, glad you like it. The Scorpion exhausts definatly pick up better and sound great. They allow the engine to rev alot more freely which you should notice from 900rpm all the way up the rev range you go. Alot better than standard. Scorpion do tend to focus on drivability and performance.

Got mine fitted today - sounds fecking lovely :D
...is there any way I can get the backbox to sit a touch higher ?
Pics below
Sounds lovely doesn't it!
I hardly ever use my stereo now:D
As for the backbox, i thought the same thing when I first had mine on,got used to it now.
Apart from fitting a new smaller rubber mount i dont see what you could do about it.
The brackets that hold the rear box up may have been bent slightly in transit try giving them a little tweek.
I bought a cd changer and I haven't hardly used it, the Scorpion sounds sweeeeeet! Best exhaust note ever and no rubbing or banging on the underside either.
