I thought I would share with everyone, especially you Mancunian SEAT owners, my current views on Lookers.

I have been let down a countless number times by a lot of SEAT franchises in and around the north-west area(5 in total)not doing there job properly,cheating/lying to me and just generally messing me about when my car was in for warrenty work.

Anyhow the nature of my post is not to praise nor condem any dealer due to me doing enough of that elsewhere, but what I will say is Lookers seem to be the best of a bad bunch in and around the North-West area.
I have lodged a complaint with SEAT UK about them but I only found seat uk to be absolutely useless when it came down to it.

What I can tell you about lookers is a mechanic who was an absolute P***k and messed both me and mike about like a goodun has left, his replacement being a mate of mine;).The service has definately improved and my car was actually fixed no questions asked the last time it was in there.
:D
Still unless the seat dealers do keep on improving in my area my next car will definately not be Vag oriantated.

In the main I have to concur that the NW Seat dealers are very poor and do the brand a major disservice - I have only been to four but the lack of interest, poor ability and rubbish customer care was common between them. I ended up having a two-hour meeting with a senior Seat person to try to resolve matters but even this didnt make things better. Seat CS in Milton Keynes started off OK but deteriorated rapidly when the staff changed.

Weirdly though, through a combination of bribery and actually liking the car, I bought another Seat to replace my Leon. My (old) car I think has been proven to be "unrepairable" - it went in for the same problem 21 times and currently sits sadly in the dealers car park as unsellable in its current state.

I have heard the dealer in Oldham (David Cook Motors, I think)is OK and I may give them a go at some point, but as a regular traveller to the Midlands, I think I may try one down there. I pray, however, that the car doesnt need any significant warranty work.....

What really p*sses me off though is that I used to have an Audi and the service was amazing. I know that Audi is a "premium" brand but within VAG isnt Seat supposed to be the feeder brand for Audi? Why is the service so different? Surely if they want folk to migrate to Audi then the have to look after their owners and not alienate them?
