What 0-60 time can you get a 1.4 down to mines doing it in about 12.5 seconds :( how much can this be improved with the 75bhp chip and what times does anybody else with one get here?

Measured at alconbury - with 15's - i got the fastest 1.4 with a standard bar induction kit time of 11.13 secs

almost 2 secs better than standard

75bhp chip??

you mean a +10% one surely

you have to be brutal with the clutch & that's it... cos with grippy tyres you won't spin the wheels.

Looks good Mike :)
Mark i dunno its the one that brings it up from 60bhp to 75bhp i just fitted some new tyres but the grip is crap comparied with my old ones :(

it's just that normally amd & superchips that are the only people i know of do 10% chips for our car....

grip isn't the limiting factor to be honest - you can't get silly amounts of wheels spin anyway.

don't bother with the chip - get an induction kit & zorst & a cold air feed to the induction kit.

Mark i read that an induction kit on the 1.4 ibiza will only give about 2bhp more and not realy worth getting ?

the green induction kit sounds really well, louder than my old exhaust!!!
still, a couple brake ponies is about 3% increase, same as my rise last year!!:(

Yes m8 it is worth it, wicked induction noise in all, every mod counts and adds up, dont expect massive power gains from a simgle mod unless u shell out for a turbo conversion costing £2500 fo a 40bhp increase

Yeah - the induction kit may or may not give more power - but all i know is - i have otherwise a boggo car & it rakes it in.

also revs did a load of tests on an RR with different induction kits tested - the JR Jetex one gave an extra 10bhp over the standard one on a 1.68v Saxo.

So, it's diffecult to measure - but it works. teh chip is a good - AmD - but it shouldn't be your first mod as it's tuned around your car & it's level of mods at that time.

Yeh i might get one, got to wait untill the warrenty is up before i do anything like that to it.
Is an induction kit something i would have to tell my insurance company about and would it put my insurance up? Allready pay way to much for insurance at the moment

I too have the dubious privilage of working for the MoD (within a missle procurment section no less)....I reckon if you want to travel mach > 3 for several 10's of seconds then you might want to upgrade your pads. The front of the car might start to glow too...

Yeah - true - enthusiastic driving wastes pads. so get practising taking them off if you're serious about venturing to 60mph

I,m getting an ejector seat from a pal who works for Martin Baker and a drag parachute of a space shuttle.

as for brakes, aset of carbon fibre jobbies will go missing off jenson buttons car pretty soon.

Changing pads? I've changed more pads than you've had hot dinners;)

not bad, u ovbiosly abuse yer brakes regulary:devil:
Im suprised I havent warped mine yet:D

the quikest I have changed discs an pads was about 20mins, thats from jacking the car up to dropping it back down. but it usally takes me about half an hour thats including cleaning up all the mating surfaces and applying copper grease .

but how fast u change them means diddly squat if you dont do the job proply, so its best not to rush it where brakes are concerned

at a garage I used to work at, my collegue did discs and pad change on a cavalier, when he drove it off the ramp he forgot to pump the brake pedal and smashed thru a brick wall, he tryed the hand brake but the cable snapped!!!

Pads for me generally lasted 4k with my steelies - the alloys helped with cooling - but it's still under 10k a set

change discs every other set of pads

The EBC green stuffs on my Ibiza 20VT lasted 2K miles only.... 1000 of them was running in the new car. One track day and they were wasted.
Crappy crap things on a crap day.

Pagids are holding their own for the moment.

Tarox groved disks seem to work like cheese graters on the pads, so even the wear on the pagids is higher than I experience on my old Jetta.

not too happy with green stuff pads as they are great when warm but they cool down too quickly for me so if you've not braked for a while they cool down and you get a fright when next need them and it takes a second or so to warm back up and bite, but i understand v4 is better .and markp is a cock:D

Some of it is interesting....some is down right boring and worrying sometimes...

Incedentally, speaking of mods, I am going to put twin flare and chaff ejectors on my Cupra as well as A Radar Warning Receiver to protect against speed cameras. I might see if the TC is up to some Spilt S's, Scissor Turns + the occastional Tirpitz too!

i have the v4 pads, and they seem ok, its the bloody ebc grooved and dimpled discs that are the problem to me!! they shudder when braking and feel like they are warped , though when pressed firmly the shudder goes away???

Ebc greenstuff pads tend to 'glaze' very easily and need constant use to keep them working right, which is why they are only any good with grooved or crossdrilled discs and yes I completly agree with Bills comments on tazox 40+ grooved disc as cheese graters.

I had to mill 40 grooves per side on a set of discs manualy on a milling machine and it took me ages!

A more sensible number of grooves are between 6-8 per side, I have 6 per side on my discs with ebc green pads and they work fine

brendy, your discs could be out of balence m8
