Mainly I have to say the reason to go to main dealer is to keep the warranty if something major goes wrong but..
I just had my 20K service (52 plate Leon R) and it cost me £120, and that was asking them to leave the washer bottle alone, then I checked my 10k service and that cost £124?
I thought the 20K was more inspection, therefore more time, and maybe should cost £120 but the same for a 10K oil change service???
Also they told me the front pads will need replacing in about 5k and will cost £205 fitted, I nearly fell over. I will deffo do them myself but they still want £120 +vat for the parts.
This was all at Westerham, and I only go there because the other dealers in the area have shut down. They seem nice enough but expensive do you think?
Hi,
I work for a main dealer, and on the 20k service, you have more parts for a start, the pollen filter has to be changed on the 20k. which is why the labour charge goes from 1.3 too 1.6 hours.
As for the brake pads, they are expensive, this is due to them being made by brembo and having huge racing pads! would not like to be with out them tho, not in a cupra r.
Regards,
Jochen.
The 1st service does sound expensive, I only paid £58 for mine, just for the oil change etc.. (it was not an inspection service) but I just have a std Cupra............
2nd service sounds good value though I have been quoted £150+ for 20k inspection service !

I just booked my Ibiza in for a service (it's done 76000 miles) cos it hasn't had one in ages and North East Seat want £260!!!!! Is this very wrong, or right for the mileage??

my 40k service was £255 garth so close!
Did i pay it? Did i hell as like! Did it all myself! (well my dad helped with the cambelt) ;)
Cost me £50 in parts and 9 grazed knuckles and an oily t shirt!
Yeah, I did the last one myself as well, but this time I want things like my dodgy abs fixed and the engine set up right as well. I can't do any of the adjustments really. Plus I can't be arsed to change the brake fluid and stuff as I just don't have the time

You'll need your timing belt replaced. Might as well just go to a specialist. All the service is laid out in Haynes.
Timing belt was replaced last year, so no worries there

If the timing belt was done then it's just a 20k regular service: (same year car as mine) so, plugs, brake fluid, coolant, check PAS and alternator belts, check dizzy and HT leads (mine are poor and dizzy cap was replaced), oil and filter, pollen filter, might be a few more but I just followed Haynes and bought all my service stuff from Stu at ECP. he should be able to bring up my order and sedn you the same stuff.
