View Full Version : Contacting SEAT UK
Hi folks
Has anyone who's tried to contact SEAT UK via their WEB site, ever had a reply? I've tried three times now this year... each time trying to find out info that could lead to me spending my hard earned cash on a SEAT product and no reply each time. A strange way to do business.
i've always phoned them and got resonable service
ive found the same, ive emailed them from their site and no response.. tsk!
phone number for seat uk 0500 22 22 22
Ive tried:emails, letters, phoning them and IMHO they were about as helpful as an ashtray on a motorbike when it came to resolving some issues I was having with my car.
No other words to describe it other than-absolute and total incompitance on their behalf and what SEAT say and do,are two seperate entities.
how spooky.. as soon as i post that i havent heard from them i get an email in my inbox from them!!
And they answered my question as required... took ages but was ok i guess as it wasnt an important query.

Unluckily, this is not my experience.
Both myself and my local dealer (Reid & Adams of Dumfries) have been trying for almost THREE MONTHS to find out whether the sports suspension kit offered by SEAT for the Ibiza, suits the TDI130 sport. I first wrote to them some three months ago and included this query when writing to complain about my engine blowing up. When I finally got an answer, all they said was "there is a kit available", speak to your local dealer. I already knew there was a kit available, I to can look at their WEB site... but this is not what I asked. What I wanted to know, was the suitability for my particular model (IE. the diesel). Wrote again, got standard notification of "letter received" but since then (yet another three week have passed) and nothing. Along side this, I've also tried to EMAIL SEAT UK, no reply. My dealer has also been trying (via Email and telephone) to find out for me. They are almost (almost!) as p1ssed off as me. Sat in the showroom of the local dealer this Wednesday, while they tried to speak to parts etc. direct. No need to say, nothing came of it.
I find it a very strange business, that anyone can offer something like this (especially safety related) and not know what model/s it suits.
If I ran a business like this, I'd be out of business me thinks!

Wonders will never cease....
Finally had a reply from my Email to SEAT UK. "your letter is being considered" etc. O'hum... maybe I should be more patient!
While having a reasonable degree of confidence (emm!), that my remaining queries etc. "will" be addressed by SEAT. It's the time they take to do get round to it, that winds me up.
An example of good public relations....
Had reason to Email OSRAM (bulb/light people) regarding an issue and not only did I get a reply within 24 hours. They put a couple of bulbs in the posts to me that I had been having trouble obtaining. A "gesture of goodwill" they said. Now I did not ask for this, but have been left very impressed by their PR. SEAT take note...
