Ive got a standard 8v Cupra (R Reg) with 78 000 miles on the clock
Im interested in getting it chipped and also an induction kit and full exhaust system..
any ideas on engine mods that r'nt too expensive (around £500)?
Does anybody know the max ouput i can get out of my Cupra
Cheers, Rob

Surely gotta be an AMD chip and an SJB Supersprint special offer exhaust. Should come in around that sort of value. ISH. done that to mine with a pipercross and cat replacement and you notice the difference. Might be wise to spend the money on brakes or suspension first though. Just a thought. Think SJB have a special on Bilstein at the mo too! How many plugs? gotta be worth a freebie! :D

get a dirty big cam and gas flow the fecker!!, seriously, why not move onto a longer duration cam setup? then chip it afterwards for max output (was so tempted to say power!!)

How much will all the cam change cost........ my insurance is high enough already, wont it affect it at all?
How much power will i be looking at then?
I think the Shrick cams are about 250, chip 225, fitting of cam is variable as to where you go.
with induction kit & zorst I think figures of about 135-140 are the norm.
insurance?? My car's standard
no seriously - i think it's like 10% for a 10% power hike (if they get told)

Must be slightly more than that. Mines got about 130 without the cam. Just a chip, induction kit and full 'zorst with cat pipe. Thought about cams but decided to spend the money on something else. If your gonna start uping the power that much it might be worth getting the 150bhp 16v as it would probably be cheaper to insure. just my opinion.
why not go for a big valve head while you 've got it off do all of the above then let amd do there stuff . oh yeh that 500 ukp is nearer tp a grand now m8,you will let us spend your money:cheers:

Cheaper to insure!!
BAHAHAHAHA, ahem,my car cost 2k to insure this year gone!! no seriously, suppose you could only have to tell them about the mods that are obvious, cam isnt that obvious as long as it isnt some huge duration one that makes the engine as lumpy as posh spices' face!!
