hi guys ,i have an ibiza 1.4 se 1997 just bought it & not familiar with seat engine yet.
after starting car from stone cold it lets me get about half a mile then cuts out, this usually happens only once,it seems as though the engine warms up & no more problem.i would tend to think that its some sort of temperature issue.
i hope the experience on this forum can guide me to a solution to this prob,im not too bad with engines so any help or advise but b appreciated as i would like to avoid dealers like the plague if u know wot i mean...lo
thnx;)

could be a number of things with the fueling and ignition systems or something daft like a sticky vale or the auto choke does'nt work properly

No problem m8, most people have the impression that maindealers are only there to charge you the earth for but most of them are nott all bad like u found for some thing simple and quick, if it was a private garage they could have spent all day looking for the fualt and charge you for the pleasure

It was the same for a friend of the family from the netherlanda who came over in his skoda but it kept cutting out once in over here, a quick trip down to our nearest skoda dealer sorted it when they plugged in there computer and adjusted where neccasary, all free of charge

yeah prob is still not fixed though i think ill just have to wait till i get a haynes then give it a service ,find out where all sensors are then either clean or replace i think that should cure prob.
