harsh noise

recently ive noticed a harsh noise at 4000 revs, stays for about 1k then seems to fade a bit into the background, sounds like high pitched tearing noise, dont think its anything to do with the induction kit, any ideas folks, also, it still happens if i ease the revs up to 4k so id happens when pushed or taken easily!!

feck, i must be on my own then, thinking it might be a noise from my induction kit then, it happens on picking and dropping revs . gonna try ervving it from the engine bay and listening about!
