Cupraman, maybe u can tell me if my Leon is a true Cupra?Got her 2 weeks ago after a long wait(too long!).Spec is as follows...
Sunroof,GPS nav system, rain sensor, electric seat pack and what i thought was ESP (not yet convinced!) Centre consol button says"TCS" checking on parts fiche(i am parts manager for our dealership in Jersey) and theres a choice of 2 buttons depending on spec-"TCS" OR "ESP" ! What does your true Cupra have??

I have as STANDARD the following:

Leather (Electric)
Auto Dimming Mirror
Auto Sensing Wipers
Mirrors Foldaway
ESP (Button on Centre console next to fuel)
CD Player
Climate Control

That was the standard spec. Apparently I got the last one in the country (Badged a Cupra) now of course there is only the 20VT and you add on extra's apart from CD and Climate that come as standard.

First thing to do with the car is to take some pictures, outside and in, and send them into me http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/smile.gif

Lee

My Cupra badge is on the opposite side to yours, and mine was one of the first 20 in the UK.

SEAT do it to confuse us. http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/wink.gif

Original Cupra spec:

1.8 20VT, Leather Electric Seats as Standard (not option), ESP, TCS, EDL, ABS. Rain Sensor Wipers, Anti Dazzle Auto Dippin interior mirror. Plus Optional Sunroof.

The other types of Leon Cupra are actually rebadged Leon Sports.

Same Engine, Velour Trim standard (Leather is factory option), TCS only, EDL and ABS, ESP was dropped to lower the costs, so those with ESP and there are few of us, its a rarity.
No rain sensors though i think they are optional, but not 100%
Again not sure about the Anti Dazzle mirrors, would say no as they wer not on Sports, but could have been added to the Cupra spec.

Sunroofs were options up until recently but they have now been dropped by the factory, due to Climatronic Air Con.

The original Cupra Leon's also had slight engine differences, which are very minor, the newer Leons have slightly modified air system, possibly for the cooling of the Turbo after use, though this is just common sense for the other Leon owners.

Dont rag em them switch em off straight away, give them a few moments for the oil to drain and cool the turbo, then turn them off.

I collected my car from the port in Jersey myself so any "cupra sticking on" icons must have been done when she entered port of entry!
Wish she had ESP though!I've been a "long suffering" SEAT parts person 4 too long though! so i've seen alot of spec. changes in the SEAT range & a mate (tech of ours) owns a Ibiza Cupra Ibiza and every time one comes through to us it's different!!Mainly trim etc...
Now i know i got "stiffed" with my Leon not having ESP but i'm looking 4ward to getting away soonish to la belle france to see if the gps works & i can find my way to Provence!

Though if you got a Leon with ESP equipped on average you paid 20% more than any other Leon Cupra owner. http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/frown.gif

Bring a Leon too M8 and check out St Tropez!
Throughly agree that the SEAT pic team are a great bunch of guys-you must know old Toby too-he's now in distribution & doing ok so i hear.
If only people (like ourselves) were in charge @ Martorel,Barcelona then the dealer network / aftersales in UK would be sorted!
(as it is in Europe!)

Check your post on Monday/Tuesday M8 for the sat nav "screen saver!" cheers in advance for the "SEAT Sport" decal! I've already got one to stick to my rear screen-tricky one too but i'm not sure where my Uncle(sales director) obtained it , will find out though & let ya know.
Will check with the muppets that they've not lost my Ekta licence-sorry to hear that all the usual mistakes from m/fiche have been carried over too! Job is HARD enough as it is huh?
Only have a photocopy of the sat nav instructions that came with my disc from SEAT marketing but a M8 of mine @ the VW garage has ordered me a copy of both the " up to 1999" and "from 1999 to present" handbooks for VW sat nav (identical to SEAT system!! I'll let you have the part nos when i receive them next week-only a couple of squid too ,so he tells me so REAL value.
Shout ya soon!
