A statement from the Staff of SEATCupra.net
A discussion has arisen on another web community, which suggested that SEAT Cupra.net should become involved with this particular site. Various comments have since followed and we at SEATCupra.net would like to clarify the situation for members of both communities.
The past
Although we would prefer to keep this in the past, we have been forced to explain some background so that newer members are aware of how the situation has reached this statement.
The owner of the aforementioned site was originally a member of SEATCupra.net. This member had a number of disagreements with how the site was run, its integrity and the integrity of other admin and moderators.
Despite numerous warnings, later chose to use SEATCupra.net as an advertising medium for their new site.
They abused the facilities of the site including using it as a personal abuse board, The Private Messaging System was abused with multiple advertisement spams being sent on more than one occasion directing members away from SEATCupra.net ( a strict breach of forum rules) and e-mail spamming was also found to be underway by this particular individual.
In accordance of the rules (an updated version is available in the forums) the members' account was later removed. Since then a number of inaccurate information, lies and criticisms regarding SEATCupra.net has been made.
The present
After lengthy discussions between the Admin team, based on the past experiences and some more recent negative posts regarding SEATCupra.net.
We believe it would be best for the future of SEATCupra.net and the growth of the most successful online SEAT community that we remain independent sites in the current climate, even though its flattering to have been asked.
The staff are fully aware that this may make things slightly awkward for the innocent members of both sites, but we have considered the facts and wish to keep SEATCupra.net a happy place where the aforementioned methods of operation are not part of our culture. Sadly this wasn't the case for a short period of time and its not somewhere we want SEATcupra.net to revisit. We hope you understand our position. We welcome members old and new from any website on the world, all we ask is that they follow the rules which are freely available to view on out forums.
It is this reason that those wishing to have further questions answered on this subject can feel free to email any of the admin staff who will answer questions privately.
We would also like to clarify, we will not use a public forum to answer our critics, we will not be pushed into a tit for tat online argument that follows no sense of purpose, and in our opinion only damages the reputation of BOTH (or any other) websites, our reputation is important to us, were proud of our members and their achievements and do not wish to use a public forum to damage those achievements, and also the sites reputation with the professional industries we work side by side with.
In this instance, we have decided to release this statement to clarify the situation for any confused members so that BOTH sites can revert back to normal discussions.
No further public discussion will be made by SEATCupra.net
Any post/reply to this statement on SEATCupra.net directed in a way to fuel an ongoing public argument will be deleted (in accordance of the rules), if you have something to say that's constructive then feel free to email one of the admin staff ( lee@seatcupra.net ) ( Zboyd@seatcupra.net ) (mark@seatcupra.net ) (saul@seatcupra.net ) (andyb@seatcupra.net ) .
The future
SEATCupra.net is committed to continuing to bring you the Number 1 online resource of information. As the largest Independent Seat owners site, we are able to bring you the very latest, often exclusive news of future models, limited editions and competitions along with plenty of discounts. We are a non commercial site which is free for all to enjoy.
We are also able to bring you all the news of Seat's Sporting achievements including the SEAT Cupra Championship where we have a presence at each event on track in the form of sponsorship of two of the cars and a diary from driver, Spencer Marsh and off track where we have a SEATCupra.net area at each event, very kindly provided by SEAT UK. The Rockingham event will have over 300 hundred SEATCupra.net members in attendance.
In addition the SEATCupra.net forums now boasts over 3000 members discussing all things SEAT (and plenty off topic as well!) resulting in an amazing source of information unique to SEATCupra.net. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the members of SEATCupra.net for making the success it is.
Finally, we wish past, present and future members of both sites the very best for the future.
Thank you very much for your time.
The SeatCupra.net team
