Well, I have had my new Ibiza SC TDi (black of course) for one week and 450 miles now... and I love it - lovely torquey engine & fabulous chassis.

Couple of niggles:

the windscreen has a small defect, but the dealers have already agreed to replace it for me
steering pulls slightly to the left but dealer will sort when in for windscreen
the dead bulb warning light comes on randomly & intermittantly but dealer will sort when in for windscreen
and I am struggling to get the stereo to play MP3's off a CD - any ideas?

Apart from that - puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it - its amazing how often I need to 'just pop to the shops' these days... ;)

Mmmm.... that votes alot of confidence for me, all these problems on a brand new car. I'm waiting for the NEW "Improved", FR TDI. Suppose I'll have to wait and see how well they stand up.

It depends how your burning the MP3 CD.
Some CD Players have problems with CDRW's my Seat CD player refuses to play CDRW's if theres even a smudge

Also depending on how you burn them depends on how they play
Mine wont play unless I make them compatable with older version of windows
something to do with the amount of characters in the names.

Try using Nero (If your using windows) and selecting MP3 CD

try that :-D

try burning the MP3 CD at a slower speed.

Hey IB,

Just out of interest when did you order your ibiza? Was the lead time pretty accurate?

Cheers,

That old pulling to the left issue, most of the MK 4s had this problem so lets hope its not repeated on the mk5...

I had a 1.2 that pulled to the left, after a crash it pulled BADLY to the left.
I've had this 1.9TDI for a while and I've experienced no pulling at all.
I think it was more of an early Mk4 thing, atleast....I hope it was!

Has the 1.9tdi SC been released yet?

My dealer has told me that it has been delayed

I hope not! I have one on order, they reckon end of April (8 week lead time). But I'm going to speak to my dealer and check how it's coming along (4 weeks down the line).

Nope not been put that but some of the build weeks had been put back tho, some of my factory orders have

I have got the SC Tdi and like it also, you can hear the turbo more than the old car but drives really nice.

I love the sound of the turbo, so thats not bad

Just spoken to the sales guy at the dealer (on his day off infact), as he wasn't in he couldn't check specifics but he said they had a batch of 1.9tdi sports being made and that they were being built. However, not sure if 8 weeks (27/04) is that likely.. he said "8-10 weeks 10-12 weeks" but we'll see. I'm hoping it's be built by 8 weeks, and then he reckons its around 3 weeks to get it from the factory to the dealer. :( I was hoping he'd say actually it's just arrived come get it!

You will just have to wait , its a factory order so it will take time to build

Burn the CD using Nero, and select MP3 CD. Also make sure to Finalise the CD (don't tick the box "Allow files to be added later"

If this doesn't work, try using a different brand of CD, i use the Tesco CD-R 700mb ones and it works fine.

oops sorry for the necro post - never spotted the last question

there was a little bubble (1.5mm) in the glass exactly in the middle of my view - if it had been in a corner I prolly would never have noticed it ;)

Dealer was good as gold replaced it straight away
dead bulb light issue was a moody bulb in the rear lights - easily sorted

pull to the left has gone by itself

so thast all good,

BUT

since have had the gearknob replaced, am waiting to have the driver's door seal replaced ..

so not a happy bunny really - still love the car, just getting a bit pissed off with niggles....
