Anybody out there bought and fitted the new K and N 57i kit for the leon 20vt?
I spoke to them about 3 weeks ago and was told that the kit was £114.00.Bearing in mind the Golf 1.8t kit is £80 I'm keen to find anybodies impressions before I splash out.

From what I have read on this forum, it would appear that many people have had problems running the K&N filter on their cars, with the oil in the filter contaminating the MAF sensor.

Popular kits appear to be the Hurricane & Twister kits. Might be worth doing a search for more info??

Got me thinking now - think I'll be doing a search myself!! :D

Just seen the post m8, if you want my advice, the other guy is totally right. When i first bought my car, K&N were one of the first to develop an induction kit for the seat 20vt engine. The filter was dead simple to fit, but as the other guy says it knackers your MAF sensor. So I would advise the twister etc... Also if you check, Seat are saying that maf sensors are not coming under warrenty now cos so many people are complaining about them.

Cheers

Wot?

Another cop out from SEAT?
MAF's across the entire VAG range, especially diesels fail on a regular basis... they're just a really fragile design...

They should have no chance of wriggling out of a warranty claim... its not a wearing component, its a sensor. (albeit a weak one)

Thats what the sales guy said at my local seat dealer ship. I was there last week enquiring about a new car and I happened to see an ibiza in the workshop and the gbuy said it was in for a knackered MAF sensor, but Seat were claiming that the sensor was NOW not under warrenty.

Don't see how they can do that.
If it fails it fails... warantee job.

Maybe the dealer is just "one of those" rubbish ones wriggling out of warranty work for no valid reason.

Hmmm.

I've been running a K&N 57i kit for my Leon Cupra V6 for about two weeks now and it's been great! I doubted it a little bit at first reading all the crappy reviews but installed it myself and it's working without any headaches. No check engine errors or anything in that area. It pulls up great and gives that ooohhh so sweet engine roar when floaring it :D

I give it the  up!

sounds to me like the lad took his car in wif the Indy kit still on, hence warrenty void.

K&N say that Seat are talkin bollocks. They look for any excuse cos Mafs are shite. They said that if it goes and Seat blame induction kit, get them to put the proof in writing and K&N will fix your car. Seat cant prove it cos its not true, therefore K&N have never had to fix any cars. K&N have looked into this in quite a bit of detail cos is same for whole VAG group. I only fitted mine a couple of days ago and the whooosh on decelleration is soooo cool. Get one!!!:repuke:
