Will soon have the old ECU from Gillm's Ibiza, figures using vag.com on his car were 208bhp / 219lb/ft.

Now, i'm still using the OE DV and want to upgrade to a Forge unit.

This has probably been done to death, but, which is better 006 or 007?? Now the 006 is bigger (please correct me if i'm wrong) so is there any benefit to fitting it over the smaller 007?? :dunno:

Hi Chris

I'm actually in Frinton, but just easier to say Colchester as it's a bigger town and not FULL to bursting with OAP's!!!

I'll let you know when i gather some more info.:)

007P is physically smaller but the vent paths are the same size as an 006P - same function, just in a smalelr package.

007P is available in black or pilished ally finish.
Same price for either.

Marky, i know frinton well and am very aware of OAP population!!!!

Also cheers BILL for clearing things up. I checked out your site and as soon as i get the cupra i will be sending an order your way for the forge dv, and also a dynatwist induction kit!!! its says on your site this combo can lead to the DV making characteristic 'whooshy' noises?? Being an essex lad from colchester and under the influence of the vast 'Max Power' population i am keen on this and is there anything i can do to enhance the 'whooshyness'???

:D ;)

yer i heard that with the dynatwist you get a dump valve sound!? again ill be putting an order in as soon as i get my cupra!

Can anyone clarify this??

I had the Forge 007 on my TT and it made a big improvement on the driveabilty, made gearchanges much smoother.

There were alot of OEM DV failures on TT's and as a result most of the guys on the TT forum have changed to Forge 'Piston' DV's as opposed to the OEM Bosch 'Diaphram' DV.

Although IIRC an improved OEM part is now made by Bosch.

with sound or not, its still got be a good move especially once chipped, must be more sufficient whilst handling the extra boost

Yeah......well not yet....

Ordered it from www.apexperformance.co.uk yesterday along with an Autometer Phantom 20psi boost gauge. Pod around £20 and the gauge was £50.

I'll let you know what they look like when installed :D

PeteJ

did you get the white face with the aluminium surround?? i had a lok thats my fave, double pod or single?

Mark@VAGWORX
07-08-2003, 16:14
Went for the Phantom, which is the white face and black surround, keeps in contrast with the dash colour a bit more.

Only went for a single pod for the time being, they're cheap as chips so if i need to get a dual pod in the future then it's no real bother upgrading.

Chris

You're not wrong. Yep that's my car. The money would come in handy now cos i've just got engaged to the other half and wanna settle down/get married abroad........all adds up!

Don't particularly want to sell it, but if the right money came along then of course, everything's for sale!:D

Is your Ibiza Black with large rims??

chris043
14-08-2003, 10:05
Oh well congratulations on your engagement then mate . My car is unfortunately not black with large rims, its blue with pathetic hub caps!! (made up for by a massive sub/amp, well sort of!!!) Pic of your car looks nice, shame its goota go, if i had the cash handy now i would snap it up in an instant but being a 3rd year student = DEBT!!!

Mark@VAGWORX
14-08-2003, 10:32
Thanks Chris.

Yeah it's a nice car, although truth be known, i haven't finished playing with it yet.........don't tell the other half;)

Only ask cos i saw a black Beeza Chill (I think) with large rims in Colchester the other night. It was at those spacky new traffic lights near Asda.

Thought it might have been you.

chris043

what have u got left to do to it, or what were u gonna do if u were not selling it? did you do any engine mods eg induction kit or dump valve in the end?? I cant wait to get one so i can play around with a few bits like that. Was also lookin at a 206 gti, but the cupra is far more tunable and fun, and a lot less common!!!:p

Mark@VAGWORX
14-08-2003, 12:15
I've got bits on order, ie; boost gauge, pod, chip etc. I will probably put the bits on still cos i don't really want to sell it.

Did run a Pipercross Induction kit for a while, until a few of the guys here said that they killed the MAF sensor, so i took it off. Sounded nice though. I'm thinking of doing some airbox mods now instead, or fabricating an intake pipe from mandrel bent steel.

Haven't got round to changing the DV yet, but if i chip her and keep her then that'll be on the list.

I have been told that reversing these dv's will make them sound better(higher Note) Almost like a bov.Is this ture? And which 1 would be best?
