I went to look at a Vento VR6 for sale, originally for my Dad but I decided it was rather nice myself.

It's a 96P in silver with 50k miles and FSH. Just over £4k at a reputable local dealer. I think it's a bargain. With some nice wheels and an exhaust it'll be fantastic.

What do people think of these? Is it worth selling my Ibiza to get one? I am assuming that being a saloon it will be more balanced than the Golf and perhaps handle better (like people say about Ibiza & Cordoba). Am I right?

I like it because it looks very understated. I don't like big bodykits and all that. It just looks like a smart saloon car.

Cheers.

If you can afford one go for a Corrado instead, they handle so much better in standard trim and a modded one is awesome.Plus you get 190bhp 2.9 ,amd chip and its 210 !:D  Andy.

vr6 is a failry hardy engine ive heard tho its very expensive to tune after the price of a chip that is, cams etc are v expensive and gearbox is a little hard work. between here and clubgti you will get the info you need to make your mind up, why not let your dad get it then if you like it and enhoy the drive, buy one when one pops up.

Driving my car again at Haynes on Sunday made me realise I want to keep it. Vento was a quite tempting alternative though.
