Toledo: Free space woofers

The rear parcel shelf of the Toledo has plenty of room for fitting a couple of free space woofers. Anyone tried it ?

Or any ideas on how it could be done:

Separate amp and speakers ?
Replace the existing read door 2 way crossovers with 3 ways to drive the extra speakers ?

Don't really like free air woofers, they never work right.

There's loads of room in a toledo to fit them in a box and the sound is much better.

You'll need to link a speaker to RCA convertor behind the HU and run an RCA to an amp for them. The in built HU doesn't have the power to run subs.

Have to agree with Pete. Free airs never sound that good.
Other than running an RCA converter, you might try an amp that accepts Hi-level inputs (like an mtx amp).
