how many people have had their car revo'd but not upgraded the brakes, suspension etc...?

onlyt ask cause i want it done but can't really afford the upgrades that should really go along with it!

is it safe to run the car without doing anything?

discuss....

Probably not many as the main benefit of Revo is the stealth aspect which if you start upgrading everything else its going to effect warranty and insurance.

The reason people tend to upgrade brakes is that you end up going faster with Revo than you expect hence end up using the brakes alot more. However if your careful and watch your speed and give enough time to decelerate, then you should be fine.

Suspension upgrades are done for almost the same reason, your going faster into a corner than you expect and so need a better handling car. Better suspension also helps with traction in theory which you need to help lay down that aditional power.

Suspension upgrades can also improve braking for the same sort of reasons.

I did the brakes/suspension post chipping. If you want to drive it to it's capacity it's pretty essential. Problem is, it's too tempting to floor it :D

I have got REVO with standard suspension and brakes with only uprated pads.

Personally, I think the suspension is a resonable setup for the road albeit a bit underdamped. I don't think REVO has changed my opinion on this either, the suspension still copes the same although there is room for improvement.
Again the brakes for the road are also ok, i rarely get them to fade on the road.

If you want to do a lot of track days however, I would definately uprate the brakes!!

I agree with Timbo. I actually think upgrading the suspension actually gave me better ride characteristics. It improves handling & braking (you get less nose dive). You don't have to upgrade, but upgrading lets you exploit all of the car's possibilities.

one of my first port of calls was to awesome gti to get APR tuned many months back,I had a few brown trouser moments with the poor brakes and skitty back end with the stock bits.Other than that everything was fine-just don't go barreling it upto some red lights expecting to stop on a sixpence!

since then alot of big changes have happened on the ibiza though!

How about the dump valve.

I have been reading that there is more pressure hence a bigger valve required. Some thing like that anyway.

Any have any thoughts?

Wouldn't want to blow the turbo.

I think a lot of people (like me) change the dump valve mostly because of the high failure rate of the stock valve. It can be a tricky fault to diagnose so your better off having one that you know is ok.

A friend of mine has an Audi TT 225 which was have problems with loss of power.
After changing the turbo they finally changed the diverter valve (dump). All on warrenty btw.
Surely if it is such a common problem part then they should have spotted it straight away.

Well, add it to the list of common faults they haven't sorted properly (or at all) then. DVs, coilpacks, horns, leaks, etc etc..

Another fault or problem I have encountered is water dripping from the car under the centre console.
SEAT say it is condensation from the air con which sounds feasible but I get sick of people telling me I have a leak and make sarky comments about it being a SEAT-FIAT.

I didn't upgrade my Leons brakes or suspension..
The extra power helps to balance the existing set up on the throttle...
I would like to upgrade brakes and suspension but I still don't see it as a neccessity.
