for getting in to the track back...
Why don't SEAT sell this car in Europe. The biggest market is western europe, a very wealthy market.
I also wonder where this car is produced..There is no SEAT factory in Mexico. To my knowledge Toledo is produced in Belgium. The cars are brought to Mexico from Belgium? Why??
Gee, why don't they sell those cars here. Where do they produce them and why none of us knows any information about that car (I mean we didn't read or see anywhere before). ..
I would almost bet that in Mexico the V5 does not exist.
In europe if the 1.8T was ever put up for sale the V5 would have no sales what so ever. Just look at the Passat or A4 for example:
You can't buy a 1.9TDI 150Hp in a passat or A4 , why? I think because if they did, sales of the 2.5 TDI would be zero.

Dear Mr. Kose
We acknowledge receipt of your e-.mail message dated 29th.December.
Regarding your inquiry we would like to inform you as follows:
1. - All Toledo models are manufactured in the plant of Martorell.
2. - Until now, the information of this model is only available in the
Mexico's website, because this country is the only market that
commercialises this engine specification.
3. - This model is only sold in Mexico, due to that this country has special orographic conditions such as areas at a very high altitude with respect the sea level; and that means less oxygen, this fact affects the behaviour of the engine. As a result it was decided to send more powerful engines to compensate the lost of power by the disadvantage of the altitude. Therefore, and as an exception, the engine 1.8 20vT 180HP is mounted on this car
instead of the engine 2.3 V5 170HP (this engine has as well a more advantageous engine torque's curve for this mentioned specific orographic conditions)
Yours sincerely,

To Spain of course and in English as they are the native country...
BTW, Is Mexico a higher altitude country.
At higher altitudes, is turbo better than an atmospheric bigger engine?

Yes, because at higher altitudes you have less atmosheric pressure. This means less air (and less oxygen) going through the intake of the normally aspired engine.
Less oxygen=Less bang=Less HP:eek:
The turbo will pack the air in with the same pressure (psi is wastegate regulated). Same HP:)

Less O2 at altitude also....thinner air
less power as a result.
Just ask the Pikes Peek competitors how much horse power they loose as they climb the hill.

Not sure bout this but think that you get close to the same amount of HP on a turbo car, just get more turbo lag since it takes a bit longer to get the same pressure into the cylinder head.
Turbos do give superior performance at high altitudes when compared with the naturally aspirated engine. The compressor pressure ratio increases as the ambient air pressure decreases. Therefore, turbochargers automatically compensate for the reduced air density that is present at high altitude operating conditions.

I have a Toledo sport 1.8t.
I buy the toledo beacuse is a little bigger than the leon.
Isn't it possible just to take the Turbo from the LEON and put it into a Toledo? ofcourse you'd probably need the computer aswell, but this should be possible not?
It is beter when SEAT would bring out a Toledo 20VT4 or something like that because I really hate all those VW Golf 4motions :(

I live in mexico city, and here the toledo sport is sold with the 1.8t 180hp 6 speed engine!!
Enter here to see it.
www.seatmexico.com
A dealer once told me the Toledo is car which is used as a 'business' or often as 'lease' car by companies.
That's why they don't sell a Cupra version or a Turbo version, which is loads of cr@p ofcource. Look at the Skoda which is available as a 4WD and Turbo and the VW Bora or the Passat?
So indeed they should bring a Toledo as a 4WD Turbo on the market, I think people will buy it, or am I wrong?
I think that there is a market for the 4wd & turbo cars, sort of a sporty family car.
And that is all more than true. I'd buy an 1.8-20VT or an 1.8-20VT4 or a Toledo Cupra... :D :D :D
Why wouldn't it be possible to make a family 'sports' car?

If you want to cause a greater impression, Sport Toledo, with their turbocharged motor of 180 HP, is the model for you. He is available with alloy rims of 16 inches with a design of 5 radios. If sights in its interior you will be able to immediately distinguish its characteristic gearshift of six speeds. Sit in the sport seats extraordinarily molded, with an excellent one takes hold lateral and fit support that reduces the fatigue. And next you enjoy the tact of the leather steering wheel. Their air bags and their systems ABS+EDS+TCS+ESP will make you feel always surely
And that is exactly what we need here in Europe a nice sedan which gives a great impression and has power :D
But here people tend to think you should drive a BMW or a Mercedes or Saab or Volvo, but they are not ALL that IMO
TurboToledo thnx for your translation
Kin of pisses you off that Seat produce different models for different markets rather than making all models available in all countries.
Leon's and Toledo's are based on the same chassis as are Golf, Bora and Octavia.
These others all have a greater range of engines diesel and petrol. Why?
My view it has something to do with minimising overlaps between each of the brands so that they are not competing directly with each other.
What do the rest of you think ?
Its not only more engine choices, but also interior and exterior acessories.
