Is it worth changing that std alarm/immobilser in the Cupra R for something better or adding a tracker.
If yes does it make a big difference to insurance, presently paying £950 with 7 ncd
Cheers

Trackers tend to help your insurance premiums more than anything else. I don't think that the alarm/imobilizer needs upgrading much as it is quite good as it is.
The only other security things you can really do are window tints, stoplocks and other visual deterents.
For as much protection as possible I'd recommend (some suggestions the same as LDOR's):
1. "Pimp tints" Which actually means - pentagon security glass which I have on mine - http://pentagonglasstech.com/category_individuals_families.asp
2. Stoplok or equivalent - car thieves have told the police that if they see one of these fitted they will almost always move on to an easier target.
3. De lock the car - remove the lock and blank it off on the driver's side. One less vulnerability.
4. Tracker device. A few on the market - Tracker, Navtrack etc.
5. Upgrade the alarm if you want - some people rate Blackjax as well, although I have no experience of it.
Hope this helps. Good luck protecting your pride and joy. ;)
