Having spent 6 hours on the car two weeks ago, rinse, wash, clay bar, rinse, dry, megs paint cleaner, megs polish & megs wax, im disappointed to find the wax does not seem very durable, after only two weeks the water is not beading quite like it should.

Could you recommend a wax to use on a silver Leon which will last longer?

Rubbish Boys original edition ?

i use this and the beading lasts for a good 4 months then will last up to 6 months before it needs redoing.

Any of the standard Dodo waxes, should see you good for 2 to 3 months, Banana Armour (http://www.carnaubawaxshop.co.uk/shop/viewproduct.php?product_id=6) or Diamond White (http://www.carnaubawaxshop.co.uk/shop/viewproduct.php?product_id=23) would be good on the silver.

The RB Juiced Edition (http://www.carnaubawaxshop.co.uk/shop/viewproduct.php?product_id=46) and Original Edition (http://www.carnaubawaxshop.co.uk/shop/viewproduct.php?product_id=1) both faired well in Iain's (Finer Details) wax test, and as Adam says 4 to 6 months is certainly possible from them. Original is a bit more hard core, but worth the effort in my opinion. :)

You may also want to look at a sealant. Mark V Glisten (http://www.carnaubawaxshop.co.uk/shop/viewproduct.php?product_id=59) is long lasting and looks very good on silver, for maximum durability it's best applied with a polisher though. The other product to consider is Bilt Hamber Auto-balm (http://www.carnaubawaxshop.co.uk/shop/viewproduct.php?product_id=88), long lasting and also excellent at masking swirls if you don't have a machine polisher to be able to remove.

When using beading to judge the presence of protection, be careful as some products behave differently. The paint work should be clean and freshly washed. Any dirt on the surface will affect the surface tension of the water, which in turn will affect the beading patterns.
