This is a question regarding an upgrade of the V6 2.8 camshafts. I have seen the ones for the VR6 engine, but also noticed there are various models with degrees for example: Sport Camshaft for VR6 cars Neuspeed 260'' pair or Sport Camshaft for VR6 cars Neuspeed 268''
Which one is correct for the Leon Cupra 4 V6?? Thanx for any advice!
i would check the engine code, that's the sure way of finding out.

It's a 15° shallow-angle V6 engine (VR6), so it only has 2 cams.

Id speak to a good tuner whos experienced with your engine, you want to make sure your car still passes the relevant government tests for emissions as some of the wilder duration cams will throw the fuelling, and then the emissions out of the allowed "window"

Hey guys thanx alot for the info, well the engine has the same code as the VR6, so that's been taken care of, it's the pricing i need to look after. The emission also isn't really a big problem in the area i live, we don't have those rules :D so here you can smoke up ur car as much as you'd like :devil:

just a heads up. You know that there's a 12v and a 24v VR6 right.
The cams are different. The engine we have is the VR6 24v (states) a.k.a. V6 204 Hp (Europe). These came out in late 1999.
So watch out you don't get the wrong set. It's gonna cost you.
Did my own short study today about cams for our engine.
That I know of, only Schrick has a set. And funny enough, Schrick's own catalog doesn't carry them, but RPIequipped do.

Well I checked into the Scrick cams for the 24V V6, but on the QSZ website (http://www.qsz.com.au) There when informed it would come out to about $1370 Austrialian Dollars including tax and shipment so that would come out to about 1650,- local....but i'm still thinking wheter it's good to go with them, cause I still haven't found a proper exhaust. Milltek's will have to be modified to fit properly. Supersprint though do have a kit, but still I have the sensor problem that I need to inform how to deal with that. So i'll have to inform a bit more before buying anything. Do you know how to deal with the sensors if we were to upgrade the exhaust?

why not get the ones you have re-profiled if posible,may work out alot cheaper:cheers:
It's possible to regrind cams also, but not on this small island.
Plus the 24v VR6 is very advanced with it's VVT and only peoply who REALLY know their stuff can do that.
Here we have none of those people.
Ncipher, how about the exhaust from uitlaat.nl . Your car will look absolutely pimp :redface:
Talk to the guys in Holland, they know a lot about the V6.

I saw the ones @ uitlaten.com the twin one on the red cupra 4, but they would require the car to actually be there so they can fit it themselves, they didn't really want to ship the exhaust to here.
I also saw on supersprints website the one they provide for the Cupra 4...it is exactly the same as the one for the Golf 4motion, but only the exhaust tip is different. One such complete exhaust system with the tip for the Golf 4Motion would be very very nice! But I'm still pending to hear from them :(
I'm looking though on alternative distributors who carry the parts :D

Anyhoo, there's still nothing like that silky smooth V6 I tell you what !
Of course aggressive cams will take all of that away:(

p.s. Ncipher mine will be chipped end of year somewhere. Went to your bank for an "bank guarantee" (bank garantie) as part of a mortgage, but as all banks in the world. In order to lend money (or warranty) you need to prove you already have it.....aaaaargh.
