my starter has finally given up the ghost,apart from bump starting it i take it thers no other way of getting the car going.
basically,its stuck,bumps starts first time,turned car off turned key"click"nothing.have given it a tap with my special tool,but to no avail,theres a starter waiting to go on it ,but its in scunthopre and i'm not booked in till tuesday after the bank holiday.
any idea's???

How do you know it's stuck and that the brushed haven't worn away?

jase i think your stuck mate, doesnt the starter turn even when the engine is running? if it doesnt ehn its more than likely turning but is broken internally. That'll be two cordii off the road for a week then.....:(

i presume you mean brushes chris?
well rusty's have had it off the car and in bits,would presume any dealer worth his salt would check or pick this up.just means i'm gonna have to re-think my plans for the bank holiday,bump start it tuesday and not turn the bugger off,drive it straight onto the ramps at rustys."i'm first";)

I feel pretty guilty because even though I feel sorry for you, I can't help feeling a little glad I didn't buy that car :redface:

I dunno what could be broken internally unless it's the windings.
