I am a happy camper now, with the ability to tank any TDi Sport (yes you slim) without even trying :D
A few extra horses in the R has now released the R's potential, and it's thanks to APR's DPP (or serial port programming to those who don't know)
Before you ask, a graph will be posted asap, once i get the scanner fixed.
It's nice, it's very very nice - out the way 330Ci :D
Thanks Jim and Matt ( Star Performance / APR )
I saw the APR stuff on the Amber Peformance (http://www.amber-performance.co.uk/) site which seems to have disappeared again today !
Is there a cost difference for the serial programming and I don't believe it is switchable either is it? unless you have the cruise control fitted ?

Yes it's switchable, and like you said via retro fitted cruise on current models - or option with the 225bhp models.
No cost difference with the new method, so its still very competative with others out there.
Star fit cruisea while back for £150+VAT (2 hour job max) , which is as competative as you'll get a dealer to do it - if you can find a dealer that will do it. Star actually fit it for a VW dealership as its easier for them than fitting it themselves.
Come on leo full details please;)

Ta max, well so as not to spoil the graphs surprise i'll keep you all hanging on and guessing, it'll also be on the rollers again soon to get it checked after some additional mileage added, and time for ecu to have educated itself and calm down from the shock of what it has to deal with ;)
There was an S3 in the day before me with 280bhp from same conversion / method, so there's a clue - it isn't more than that - YET ! :D
Costs are exactly the same as the original EPS software / ecu swap, there was a teething problem in getting it uploaded due to the fact it was the first European R done and is different to the ones done in the USA, biggest problem being the time difference - the guy was still sleeping - mind you it was only 7am over there.
I kept the choices simple - 98ron program / flip switch (allowed through cruise) / lockout (stop anyone else using it) Didn't see the need for 95ron or TBS (not FBA) or FCE.
Did a few runds last night with a dodgy stop watch, and some very dodgy of the line starts. In a long slight uphill straight it hot 100 in 16 (very dodgy start too, swerving to miss another car) In the opposite direction (and so downhill with better clean start) on standard it was 17+ (like i say dodgy timing and no decimal places - maybe later)
In gear i guess its like the other chipped guys and flying in gear, still extremely deceptive speed pik up cos its soo smooth, do need to service the DVR though, that's 6000 miles since on and started to feel a bit slower or not holding the boost properly - quite different towards the end of 80 miles of nailing it.
Hehehe to my amazement fuel economy has improves without even trying ?
More details to follow very soon - promise.

I know I know, it's just that it gets there so much quicker, and the idiot was doddling along so slow it was almost backwards - it wasn't major just would have affected the time a bit.

LEO,
Do you have any idea on the figures on your car?
Also does the car hesitate now chipped. (Something I experienced with the REVO demo).

Hesitate as in when at slower speeds or as in when booting it ?
I've only experenced that before i replaced the DVR diaphragm and spring. It seems fine now, very crisp changes.
Costs were ;
98ron software £499+vat
flip switch (allows back to stock via cruise) £99+vat
cruise £150+vat
lockout £39+vat
imobiliser security £200+vat
additional programs £39+vat each i think
tba/fce £39+vat
You should phone a dealer to get these confirmed, there may be a little give on them if you are getting a few itmes done at once ?
Feel free to correct me if they have changed prices, wouldn't want to be giving wrong advise.
Star Performance or Awesome GTi should be able to answer all questions - give them a call.

When I had the REVO demo code loaded my car was hesitant when accelerating booting it or not. This did not happen all the time but I was just wondering if u had this type of issue thats all.
Also did you know what your BHP and Torque figures are now.

That seems really expensive to me, with Revo & SPS2, that would cover most of the above and cost £650 excluding VAT (I think?)
What's the difference between 'lockout' and 'imobiliser security'?

Yeah I bet thats the que on the A77 heading north in the morning :p

LOL Well said :D
Also did you know what your BHP and Torque figures are now.
Yes, 260 bhp & 270 lbft, not as much as i'd hoped for actually, but in reality it is still very fast, and relaibility should never be an issue as it peaks at 1.3bar, well within the margine for the KO4 turbo.
Nevertheless it does make it hard to get a good RR, as inlet temps rise quicker than a standard car (even with 2 intercoolers Cupramax) it was at 53 degrees on the rollers.
No sign of hesitation from this R, only from the driver
It's only more expensive if you don't include all the items you get for the money like cruise as well. I'm sure you'll get what suits your own pocket best.
Great work from Jim and Matt - again.

vibs : whenever suits you and SBF ?
MantisGW : not this time, not near there very often - i've seen another black R once in ayrshire, he passed me and then i passed him on A77 - he wasn't interested in waving.
I'm on a debadged 52 plate.
