puff of smoke from dash 2001 seat toledo v5

Hi ive bought a 2001 seat toledo 2.3 v5 had it about three weeks and this morning got in and drove abouit 100 yards up the road before a puff of smoke came out of the dashboard. Since this the car has refused to start, it turns over but does not run. I have lost the clock and the mileage countr as well as all the warning lights except the battery light.
can someone please help?

Hi, Your in the wrong forum, you want mkI and mkII forum. Imobiliser runs from the control module in clock does it not or at least coded in, if this has gone then the ECU wont let the car run i dont think.
