Hey guys/ girls, i've been the owner of a new Ibiza since late April now and i love it, its only the 1.2 model but that's all i really need. Unfortunately i bought this car off a dealer as an ex show car meaning it had been used but only done a couple of hundred miles. It didn't come with some of the features that i would have chosen if i had ordered it directly from Seat so i'm planning to ad them myself.

Firstly it didn't come with alloys, i have my eyes on some alloys but was wondering if anyone else has had any experience with the specific set i'm looking at, or have any better suggestions. The complete set w/o tyres will be just over £300. I don't think i'm allowed to externally link to other sites yet as i'm a new member, plus i cant post pictures yet can i? So for now i'll describe them and post pictures when i can. They're by a company called 'Dezent' they're black with V shape spokes, with a red rim around the outside. My Ibiza itself is black so my main question would this be too much?

I'm also looking to get my rear windows tinted as well, primarily to try and keep it a bit cooler in the summer. I was browsing around Halfords the other day and they have various DIY window tinting kits, which claim to be "easy" to apply and creates a "professional" look. However after doing some online research i'm finding these claims to be hard to believe. Has anyone else had their new Ibiza tinted professionally? I'm trying to get an idea of how much its going to set me back.

Thanks for your time and any help is much appreciated. I've been viewing these forums for a fair few months now and its been a great help so far!

Hi there.

The only thing i can probably helpp you with is the window tinting.
I have my ibiza on order from stock without window tints, but i enquired about this and i am paying £200 for my dealer to fit the tints. He offered me The factory fitted tints, a darker shade or a lighter shade..iwent for the factory one.

You can probably get this done cheaper, but i had to opt for the dealer to do it because then it is classed as a standard fitted window tint, which i dont need to declaare to my insurance. If i was to go for another company to fit it, i might be able to get it for £100, but my insurance was bumped up by £120 just for bloody window tints.

Basically it is all depending on your insurance. Just find out what it would cot to declare this.

Thanks Gareth i hadnt thought about going to the dealership! I think if they can get it done for me then like you i'll opt to have it done that way due to insurance. I will double check the quote though incase it doesnt make too much of a difference. My main problem is where i live, i can only seem to find one place within an hours drive that does tinting commercially. Thanks again!

no problem :)

I spoke to 2 dealers and they both said they would do it so im fairly confident they will do it for you

I think you will find that when the dealers do it they actually get a mobile tint company in to do them. same as replacing windscreens, tyres and sorting out small bodywork and interior trim damage.

plus if you get a dealer to dit less chance of bubbles and c0ck ups, well at least you can take it back if there are.

Gareth: I rang the local dealer today. Unfortunately they dont do it. The guy said that its treated glass that comes with the ibiza if you order it to your own spec so they cant do it... Looks like i'll be continuing my search... Not really wanting to get a DIY kit as i dont quite trust myself..

Cheers again guys for the help so far. When i can i'll get some pics up of the car in this thread and then new one's with the new alloys/ windows if and when i get them sorted! Still in two minds about the black with red trim alloys...

ahh right thats a bit rubbish. My dealer must be getting an external company to do it. I dont mind thought as long as it looks alright.

Let me know how u get on with your search :)

Yeah i wish my dealership would do that. I've spent the last couple of hours glued to the internet looking for places to get my car tinted and various methods to do it yourself. Having done this and found a place that has precut tints for my car i feel confident that i could do it myself. I've watched various video's on it as well as reading through many many different set of instructions. The equipment needed to do it is inexpensive as well. My only worry is finding somewhere that is protected from wind with minimal dust as i dont have a garage... I'm sure i can find somewhere to do it, call in a favour with a friend etc.

For the full kit (not including windscreen) i can get the precut set for £69.99. I could probably get it cheaper if i keep looking but i'm happy with that price as i originally thought it was going to cost me in the region of £200 to get it done. I'm not 100% set on doing it my self yet, but it's likely that thats the way i'll go. If so i should hopefully have tinted windows in 2 weeks time, taking into account delivery times etc.

Quick update:

I will be going for the pre cut tint. However i'm not sure when i will be able to yet as i'm still in search of a decent dust free garage to use.

I have ordered three things for my interior today which will hopefully arrive on Wednesday and will be fitted at the same time. They are the honeycomb grill for behind the front grill, the new 'Style' gearstick and the aluminum decorative dash set

Basically i'm trying to make the inside feel a bit better than it does at the moment. Will take some before/after photos to post on here incase anyone else wants to see some real photo's of them being installed.

As for the alloys i have found somewhere that is selling them for £250 now with free postage so will be saving over £70 now which pays for the pre cut tint set! Perfect :)

Yeah i'll post them up, should be allowed to by then due to post count. I'm not actually sure, i will be there when they replace it though so i can let you know how its done. They said all three jobs shouldn't take longer than half an hour so i cant imagine it being too hard to do.

I'd really be interested in your experience of fitting the honeycombe grille - and of course some photos of the finished article.

Sure thing mate, is it sad i'm really looking forward to Wednesday now lol

Not that im going to do it(well not straight away anyway), but id like to see what the honeycombe grill would look like when coloured gun metal or chrome etc. No way of seeing what it would look like apart from actually doing it and spraying it back to black if it looks horrible though lol

Update:

Hey guys i have had the gear stick and the dash decor installed. The gear stick took them about 15 minutes, and i did the dash myself in under 5. I took the photos of the old dash a couple of days ago when i couldn't find my camera so the quality isnt great as they were taken on my phone. But the new photos should be alright.

Old dash and HU surrounding:

Sorry for the messy interior lol:

New surround for the HU etc:

I'm really happy with the way it turned out, the new gear stick feels but much let alone looks alot better imo. I dont know why but since the new gear stick as been added, the changing of gears feels alot better, as if the path to each gear is much more defined.

As for the honeycombe grill it didnt arrive yesterday, they told me it should be there today but i havent had a phone call yet, so it looks like it'll be done tomorrow.

Hey guys, i've finally had the honeycombe grill installed. Took them around 20 minutes to do. Looks great, apparently i'm on of the first people to order this part, and i am the first to order/ have it installed in my area lol

Heres the pics of front Without the honeycombe grill:

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a92/splinter26/DSC03836-1.jpg

There you have it, i much prefer not being able to see right between the old grill.

Here's a slightly better pic of my car as a whole:
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a92/splinter26/DSC03832-1.jpg

My next step is to either get the windows tinted or get these alloys fitted:

http://www.motorspeed.com/sitepix/products/dezent_motion_b.jpg

I've had my eyes on those for a long time lol But they will have to wait as i'm off on holiday twice in the next four weeks so i'm going to have to save money for a bit.

Quicik question about the aircon/HU surrounds, how does the fitting work, is it just a self adhesive panel you stick on or do you remove the old one and replace with the new one?

splinter26
15-07-2009, 17:14
Its adhesive lol i thought it would be a case of removing the old surround and replacing it.. I was a bit annoyed when i found out it was adhesive as i thought it would luck cheap and tacky, however i was pleasantly surprised. The way it is molded covers all the corners and fits snugly into the surrounding. It comes with an alcohol wipe which you use to prep the areas the adhesive sticks to, then stick them on. It takes no more than 5 minutes to do. I am very happy with the way it has turned out, much prefer it to the original boring black surround.

hi my friend
i see we do have both the same cars and i feel thats enough for me.only my car's colour is red emocion .the interior looks great with your new gearbox stick and dashboard hu surrounding is nice.,

but i think there s no need for honeycombe grill because nobody sees that one .

also my car has 14'' wheels and i wonder if you have the same size or what size will you choose for your new wheels?

and the last thing i want to say you can do it easily yourself with back window tilting i made it myself the first time .yes the quality not seems so good but i will try to do it again.think about it.

Hey thanks for your reply :) I was torn between the red and the black as my local dealer had both at the time, i ended up going for black, which i do regret in a certain way due to how often i need to clean it, and heat in the summer.

Yeah i see where your coming from as far as the grille is concerned, i wouldn't have bothered getting it done by itself, but thought as i was getting the new gear stick etc i may as well as i dont like the larger gaps at the front.

My wheel's are 15's, and i'll think i will stick with that for the new alloys :)

As for tinting, i may well do it myself as after the alloy's i will be on a bit of a budget, but i'll see how it goes :)

thanks for your reply

black is nice but hereby i am attaching the pics in the show room which i decided on red. Also in Turkey the white colour is selling good .

also please explain what you mean by ''Yeah i see where your coming from as far as the grille is concerned'' and waiting for the alloys pics fitted.

As for the grille i mean that i understand why it can be seen as a pointless add on as its barely noticeable.

It's going to be about a month before i can afford to get the alloys as i've just got back from a holiday in Paris, and in two weeks i'm off on holiday again to Amsterdam so money's going on that for now. As soon as i get them there will be photos up here.

Hello,

I was wondering how are the accessories being mounted...I am going to order some stuff, but I do not know how to install it..is there a glue or double-sticker in the kit so you can attach them? The dashboard trim set is being put OVER the old dashboard, so I guess it will have some stickers.
Also there is an accessories for the 3rd door of the SC - Tailgate Chrome Styling Strip..how can I install it myself?
Anyone have an idea?

Best regards...

The have stickers. You can do it yourself but you must be carefull because you only have one chance of geting it installed correctly. I also suggest the Door sill guards. http://www.seataccessories.co.uk/product/Door_Sill_Guards_6J0071500A

Massive delay in updating this! Been a long time since i've done anything new to the car, but finally got my alloys. Got 17" Dezent motions 2 black. £315 for the set £470 in total with shoes on.

Only got one photo as it stands, not best quality, just after a camping trip with my mate looking a mess in the drivers seat. I'll try get some better pictures up soon.

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a92/splinter26/IMG_0651.jpg

Can't help but feel like it needs to be lowered now, but i wouldn't know where to start.

Still wanting to get the windows tinted. Also having seen some fantastic examples on here, i have decided to paint my seat badges Black with a red trim. Also tempted to try the silver outline to the front grill in red. Found a cheapish replacement grill so if it looks horrible i'll refit the original! Just need to find the paints and look into sanding it down etc. Haven't a clue how to get the back badge/ handle of despite the help on here. Cant seem to find the screws...

Oh i thought you actually went for the FR honeycombe grille. IMO i wouldn't have bothered with the one you have.

Those wheels really do look good heheheheheheehhe. Whatever you do, don't get the lowering springs from SEAT, I hear a lot of ppl are disapointed by the height after as it is still too high. You are better off getting an aftermarket set to drop the car by about 40mm i think unless you want it lower then get fully adjustable coillies :funk:

Having changed the springs on my old car and kept the standard dampers, I can't really stress the importance of changing both enough! What I found was that the car looked better, cornered a little better and gave me more oversteer. However, with this came the horrible ride over bumps - since the springs and dampers were out of phase, every bump can be felt and I had to take speedbumps at a crawl; it will also shorten the life of the dampers as they're being pumped at a different frequency than designed for! Sorry to put a dampener on things ('scuse the pun!) but if I were to do it again, I'd save up for the whole spring damper set - you will get all the positives and less of the negatives!

I agree with you mate. that is why I am going to be paying about £1200.00 for my KW V3 with are hight, bounce and rebound adjustable. Supplied and fitted by VW Racing. Alot to pay but I am thinking it will be worth it as I don't have to worry about changing the ARB too.

Cheers for the input everyone, i daren't take the risk of messing my car up. Looks like the tinting will be the next alteration to be made along with the painting of the badges when i finally figure out how to get them off!

Yeah i have looked at them. But the description as to how to remove the handle on the back is over my head. It seems simple enough just removing screws etc, its just i can't for the life of me find where the screws are lmao

Tempted to buy the FR grill in later today, when it arrives dismantle the badge from that one and do it to see what it looks like. Rather than having a grill-less car while paint dries etc.

On the rear i think its in the handle that u grab to close the boot x2 T20 screws i think then just pull the rest off, il have a look later when i get my car bk... a few cm lower ;);)

Dave: Aye that's what i read but i just cant seem to find where the screws are lol i'll have another look in a bit!

Just ordered the other grill! Should be here Wednesday and i plan on spraying the badge as well. How long this will take i have no idea.

Does anyone happen to know whether the grill i just ordered includes the silver surrounding or not?

Edit: Just booked my tint as well. Although bit confused as they claim its illegal to tint the front door windows as its close to the % allowed anyway :S I originally wanted dark smoke on back three and light on front two. But now i'm just going to have dark smoke on the back three and nothing on the front two... Oh well i'll see how it turns out and figure the rest out later. Its booked in for next Wednesday. Need to figure out how to treat the badge before painting before tomorrow first as i want to get it set up asap :)

So i've just returned from picking my grill up and a trip to halfrauds where i got some primer, and the correct paints. Also bought some LED side lights so the next couple of hours are going to be busy. This could either go really well or really, Really bad...

I did indeed. I used to have the honeycomb grill which sat behind the original. But prefer the look of this one. Looks great on yours. Just spent ages masking off all the little bits of the grill around the badge to spray it. Waiting for the primer to dry now. Dreading taking my original grill off as i hear it can be a bit tricky. Dont want to snap anything etc.

Right to begin with i removed the badge using the useful tut on here already :)

Then i wasn't sure whether i wanted just the front of the badge surround to be in colour or to colour it all the way into the grill. Now this is hard to explain so i'm not sure if that made any sense lol. However i decided to colour all the way into the grill. It took a while to prep it as i had to individually wrap each "spoke" of the grill with masking tape. Hopefully it'll be worth it:

Beginning of the masking tape jobby:
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a92/splinter26/IMG_0681.jpg

After spraying with the masking tape still on:
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a92/splinter26/IMG_0682.jpg

With the badge side by side:
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a92/splinter26/IMG_0683.jpg

Not fully inserted yet but wanted to see roughly what it turned out like. Still need to sand off some of the areas where the red paint escaped onto the grill. And need to lacquer but Halfrauds had ran out.. So i'll find some tomorrow. I'm happy so far lol Next step is to spray the silver surround in black. And i'm tempted to have a red pinstripe on the inside of the black surround but it'll be fiddly. We'll see how it goes tomorrow.

This spraying jobby is so picky around the inside of the grill lol Had to respray to correct some of the red paint. Thought sanding would take it down easily but it didn't. Still need to Lacquer the grill as well. Not sure how long to leave it before mounting it. So if i lacquer it tonight i'll probably fit it tomorrow afternoon.

I give up!!!

Spraying this grill has been a nightmare... The badge has had problem after problem so i've sanded it back to the starting point twice already. I finally thought i had it perfect. Push it into the grill carefully, first off it wont click into place properly, it will only connect on one side, the otherside can't be pushed down far enough. This would be fine as its secure if it wasn't for the fact that the process of pushing it into place scratched a load of the paint off of the sides...

This resulted in me trying to spray again and retry only with the same result so i resorted to leaving it in the grill with the chips and buying the paint pen/brushes from halfrauds which matched the colours i had used which blended it properly however when in light it looks all bumpy and tacky.

I'm at a loss now as to how other members on this forum pulled this off without the badge chipping when being put back :(

Dave 77
13-07-2010, 17:17
I put masking tape on the bits that would chip off, peeled it off when it was in place. Worked quite well.

I've now been through 4 sets of led side lights lol Finally found some that are exactly what i wanted. Bough the first set from Halfords and they were bright but just not bright enough, not crisp enough. So i tried some blue LED's from eBay which were quite frankly pathetic. Got through two sets of these, different types and they both just looked like a cheap christmas light.

So after ages and ages of searching online and on here i found a thread about LED's and ended up finding some of this bad boys: 501 Long 19 LED Extreme Power 2W 360 Degree White http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/501-Long-19-LED-Extreme-Power-2W-360-degree.html

They're a bit bigger than the other LED's i've had. Easy to fit. No lights on the dash etc.

At first when i fitted them they looked a bit weird as there are multiple points of light instead of the one. But they're bright as hell even in the day time. The photo's i've got don't do any justice at all. Particularly at night, i think they're brighter than my main lights lmao

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a92/splinter26/IMG_0751.jpg

Really can't tell how bright they are in the day here with this picture:

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a92/splinter26/IMG_0753.jpg

and poor night time pic but you get the idea. Should have left one of the oldies in to compare.

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a92/splinter26/IMG_0756.jpg

Now i want to get pure white main bulbs. Bought some that were supposed to be from halfrauds but they're still orangey which i really don't want. Anyone have any recommendations?

05-08-2010, 22:23
how easy are they to fit?

splinter26
05-08-2010, 23:20
Easier than lego.

Take off the black cover on the back of the lights. And then look at where the sides lights are from the front to work out where to grab. There's a long bit of plastic that you just pull out, no twisting or anything. Then just pull the bulb straight out and push the new ones back in. Done :)

Right big update. I'm selling my car. Keeping the alloys and grill etc as i still have the stock.

I've decided to go for the 1.2 TSI DSG. For a bit more oomph. Insurance will only be an extra £50 so can't complain. Wish it had the flappy paddle but apparently it doesn't. I do need some advice though...

I was just looking around online comparing insurance for different models etc, found a BOC in my price range but insurance was an extra one and a half grand... Then i found a 10 plate Cupra for which in the insurance was only an extra £40 which i don't quite understand but anyway my question is, is a 10 plate cupra for £14,000 too good to be true? Am i risking it if i go for this Cupra? I do want the 1.2TSI but if i can grab this for a similar price and insurance i will!

Loving the car itself, DSG is fantastic, loving the flappy paddles for a bit of fun. General ride etc is much much better than my previous car and obviously the engine is fantastic lol

Only alterations made to her so far is swapped the original side lights for the ones i had installed previously. And chromed out indicator bulbs on the front to stop the "fried egg" look. Mods i'm thinking of are a wrapped/ painting roof and perhaps painting the plastic grill bits on the front to match the black "mouth".

Picked her up with 7,000 on the clock for a flat £14k. Seems in great condition but have noticed some stubborn dirt/ marks that didn't come off in my wash so going to look into this "snow foam" malarkey that seems to be useful but haven't a clue where to start, also some detailing clay should do the job.

Nice looking car mate. Snow foam won't remove stubborn marks, it's used to lift off surface grit/dust before hand washing. I have a snow foam lance, and while it's great fun to use, i'm not 100% convinced of it's benefit.

I've had my Boc now for just over a week and wanting to do some small alterations.

I will be doing a REVO when i get the money together. But for now i want to improve the overall sound and quality of the engine. I'm thinking about the forge BOV but i haven't a clue which one to get. I keep getting a squeaky "chirp" from my car when i put my foot down so i'm hoping the bov will stop this. I'm new to all of this so any help is greatly appreciated. Also looking at the intercooler kit people have mentioned on here but again i have't a clue which one to get or how i would fit it.

Does anyone have a video with their forge BOV fitted?

TSI BOY
03-09-2010, 09:51
Search on YouTube for the videos plenty on there. I can't post link because at work and won't let me :( also search bov in forums as been discussed before and people put links up in them threads

splinter26
03-09-2010, 11:34
Cheers for the reply.

I've searched through a couple of threads mentioning them and it seems that Forge seem to be the most popular but i couldn't find the specific parts required. Same on youtube, i could find plenty of videos on bov's but not on a boc so was wondering if anyone had filmed there's or had any recommendations on specific parts.

splinter26
03-09-2010, 22:03
And the boc is dying....

Emissions light has come on solidly and it seems that the low end power has gone, having to push the pedal alot further down to get the "oomph" required... So pissed off that this has happened little over a week of having her. I'm supposed to be doing a 200 mile drive tomorrow morning and now i'm going to be stuck down the local stealers (The one i bought it from is over 170 miles away..)

splinter26
11-09-2010, 18:34
Right well i finally got the car back on Thursday after the worst customer service i have ever received. Oxygen sensor has been replaced. Was assured that they had looked thoroughly through everything and it's all fixed. After about 45 minutes of driving on my back to Birmingham (Which had been delayed by a couple of days due to the problem) and the emissions light has come back on...

So i'm abit suspicious either about what the garage actually did, or the car itself ie whether this problem was apparent before them selling it to me..

splinter26
13-09-2010, 14:47
So i jumped in the car to go to the seat garage and the light turned off. FFS! Still a bit weird that i came on at all though?

Haven't had the light come back on recently, all in all the car seems fine now. It's booked in for a service the beginning of next week.

Wasn't planning on any further 'mods' to the car until at least January / February if not longer due to money. However the Revo offer has grabbed my attention. If you work it out you save more like £120 rather than the £100 stated due to VAT. If all goes well money wise and as long as the dealer can fit me in i should be getting my car remapped within the next two weeks, and also getting the Forge Bov Spacer ordered and installed. Fingers crossed everything will go smoothly!

Quick question, i'm going to buy the switch later on after i get the remap as i'm stretching to the remap as it is due to it being a sudden unexpected purchase. Is there going to be any problem using the switch after with the different settings? Or does the switch need to be programmed when the remapping is done?

Iv been thinking about this recently mate, my dealer revo'd my bocanegra for me and I am looking to buy the switch this week. From what I understand it can be purchased after the map as I am doing, and there is a new SPS switch out which is all ready for revo'd cars in which you literally just plug in and select which setting depedant on which fuel you use and can be done at home you dont need a garage/specialist to do it.

splinter26
02-12-2010, 10:07
Well in reply to my question in the Revo Section:

"That's not a problem!

The software has the switchability built into it, when you buy the SPS it can be setup to suit your car (if it needs to be) but it won't effect the functionality of the switch having the software now and the switch later! "

So looks like it'l be fine :D

splinter26
07-12-2010, 16:09
Quick update, car's gone off for the service, 2 and a half hours late... Hoping to get it back today as due to unforeseen circumstances i can longer film on set tomorrow due to the backdrop failing to be delivered on time, so this has meant that i've moved the Revo to tomorrow, also depending if it arrives the bov spacer should also be fitted!

mardon
07-12-2010, 16:15
Yeah the SPS switch is smart. It takes about 30 seconds first time you use it to set up the unit, after that, you select the setting on the switch plug in the OBD port and beepbeepbeep its done in less than a second!

splinter26
07-12-2010, 17:12
Had just convinced myself that i was going to stretch and get the switch. However i've just had a quote through from a local body shop on the repairs to my car. £750+VAT.... Must admit that's more than i was expecting so thats £160 for the service, £352 for the Revo, £50 for the spacer this week plus the repair...

Christmas dinner's going to be a pop tart this year by the looks of things

WOW!!! What they say mate? New wing right?

Approx cost of repairs is £730 + vat - this includes renewing wing - repair to rhf bumper and blending, Rh door - i suspect the rh headlamp may be broken

Finally got my car back from the service and the headlights have some serious condensation on them, covering the entire light.... Never had any condensation problems with the car so far so wondering what they did during the service to make this happen..

I know it's so frustrating if only the maintenance lot around here had got their asses into gear and gritted the car park i wouldn't be in this situation. I'm not getting it done straight away as i simply can't afford to, but i hate driving her around in this state!

I know what you mean mate. When I had to drive around with a smashed rear bumper I hated it too.

So sorry to hear that! Crazy price to fix. Its the labour, so costly these days!

splinter26
08-12-2010, 11:08
The problem is at that price it's weighing up claiming it on insurance or not. I don't know why but i was expecting it to be a couple of hundred.

edit: On another note, it does seem that the forge induction kit makes the emission light come on every now and again. It seems a bit random but have noticed it come on after some 'heavy' driving. It's quite annoying seeing as i paid so much for it and it's causing this problem. I'm going to talk to forge later on today if everything goes well.

Well it took absolutely ages to sort out the problems with my original boc. Hundreds of phone calls and visits to three different Stealers but it was all worth it in the end! Last week i managed to return the boc for a cheque. After what felt like the longest week of my life i have finally got the new boc :)

Finally met Techie after speaking for a month, great to be able to put a face to the name.

The car drives like a dream, already a marked improvement on the mpg proving that the issues i had were clearly causing efficiency issues on top of everything else. Only frustrating thing is that it was raining and spraying like mad on the drive back so she's already a bit mucky :( Got to get used to having a white car though i suppose! The battery ran out on my DSLR so for now here's a couple of shots from my phone (although i know you've probably seen dozens of photos of the car from before lol but i couldn't help myself).

Couple of sets on eBay but other than finding them second hand your best bet is to ask a seat dealer, they don't come cheap though lol

22-04-2011, 17:07
tnx for the recommendation i'll try those 2 options & see which I can get best for the buck ;)

splinter26
22-04-2011, 17:14
If your planning on having them painted id go second hand as it doesnt matter what state they're in as that can be rectified while being refurbed :) good luck!

wow now your asking i cant remember it seems ages ago now. I got them from my local seat dealer, cant remember if all three came in one kit or if the handbrake surround was separate.

Oh wait just found it on this site: http://www.seataccessories.co.uk/product/Dashboard_Decorative_Kit_-_Aluminium_6J0064702

So yeah 100 quid all in :) Takes five minutes to fit

edit: Oh and the gear stick was a separate buy as well. I think that was around £75

Your insurance company charged you more for adding something which will keep pryiong eyes off valuable posessions contained within the car thereby reducing the chances of theft?? Modification or not it's obsene that you should even have to declare something like that!! I never have
