Damn, you beat me to it.

The site looks good, and has some info on the IHI conversions. :) Theres a few links that were broken and one or two mistakes (eg. on the Stage 3 IHI Turbo upgrade page it lists the kit as including the Sports Cat (Which it does) plus available as an extra for £345).

Cheers

Nice site, and tons of info on products - just what a customer wants.

Just a small point i observed, the Turbo Kits do not mention the 210 FWD engine upgrades

YIP probably because no one has had the FWD 210 engine done fully yet, it was mentioned on another thread that they are expecting about the same returns as the 4WD cars at max 370bhp & 300lb-ft, which i think is enough for me :D

Appears inflation has taken hold.. Remaps are now £475
Still entirely worth it though.

As Ben mentions some of the price structuring on the IHI kits is a little strange. For example, a re-map is an option which implies to my simple mind that the car will run on a stock ECU, albeit at reduced performance?

All I'm thinking is that if the long waiting list for conversions is due to fitting time, then those who can fit the kits themselves, can drive the cars (carefully) up to Jabbasport for the post installation re-map?

Whichever way you look at it, the IHI swap offers an awful lot of "bang-per-buck". Every time I look at the site, I start giggling like a loony. :D

That's what I'm getting at - if a remap is a necessity then isn't really an option, is it?

If Mike says "The car will run on stock ECU (around 0.6 bar boost) but will run lean at the top end or slightly rich." then it's not beyond me to baby it up to Jabba for a re-map.

If he says "It'll pink like a b@st@rd at anything over idle." then obviously I won't be driving it anywhere.

ISTR, Bill(?) mentioning that Jabbasport were aiming to supply these kits to agents around the country to take some of the fitting workload off them. Again, this kind of implies that the cars will run on stock ECU until a re-map can be carried out?

they also have off the shelf maps too so doesnt need to be re-mapped on rollers as they offer this as a postal service so should imagine dealers would get this!

On another note they dont advertise a K04 conversion anymore :( Wonder if they still doit1 Cause I dont like the idea of having all the bits hacked in my engine bay and ive nearly finished the car now and the k04 is the only thing left pretty much :)

Any1 have any ideas?

Not neccessarily.... but ECU's can be sent to Jabba for chip fitting on "safe" maps to run OK with IHI and allow setting up @ Jabba.

Mike has a good library of maps whcih will be safe (lower boost) and run fine to get the car to Jabba for finish mapping for optimising etc.

should make things quite workable.. and more available for the general public who currently join a long queue.

bill

I don't like queues, I'm very impatioent. And I'm always worried that they might of forgotten me, and I'm not on the queue at all! :(

Also, by the time I get the power it will be winter, which means road conditions wont be ideal for a 340bhp fwd car, and also the mapping will be setup with cool air.... its possible that when the hotter weather comes around then the car will start to pink!?!? :(

Still... can't wait! :)

On their site, I've just noticed under remapping for Ibiza's, this note;

'NB Some problems with '01 cars standard power'

Anyone know exactly what this means? :dunno:

Yep.
Some cars don't produce their factory 156bhp so don't make the same maximum power either....
Cause is unknown. Some start as low as 140bhp.... factory std cars!

Thats interesting, as I have an 01 Ibiza Cupra!

I suppose the only way of checking this out is on a rolling road?

As I've said many times before, my car is so inconsistant with it's power delivery! One minute it pulls like a train (well as much as 156bhp can) and others it feels like it's literally 100bhp (not turbo)!

I was thinking about the chipping route early in the new year, would this iron out the inconsistances, as it's really getting me down as it's often slower than it should be! I know what it's capable of, but 75% of the time, it's not where it should be!

:(

To be honest, rolling roads generally arn't accurate enough anyway.

Its interesting that some standard cards are significantly down on power yet no action has been taken against Seat. I know Mazdas new RX-8 was meant to have 240bhp, but many people have found that they only produce 230bhp... as a result Mazda now state that the car is 230bhp and they have offerred a full refund to those that bought the car believing it was 240bhp!

prices have gone up too.

from just over a month, the custom remap has gone up £100, I mailed them 1 month ago so I no this is correct. this was for a TDI bit of a price hike.

i enquired for the K04 and got this:

The prices for the K04 conversion for the Ibiza are as follows:

Turbo £875.38
Remap £475.00
Fitting kit £55.00
Fuel reg. £40.00
Labour £205.63

Total £1651.01
All prices include VAT

Bit Pricey  but for a start I can source the turbo for £600, Selling my old revo ECU should cover cost of re-map or close to! But I wonder whats included in the fitting kit??

You still definately going for it?
I'm something stupid like 27th in the queue, but they expect that out of the queue only something like 6 people will actually go ahead with it! I can't wait.

i am in the same frame of mind now as i was then when we were at autotechnik that saturday .. chompin at the bit!! .. i have some serious payback to be gettin on with!! although i must admit the inflated prices have somewhat dulled my eagerness.. i'm sure back a few months the 310 kit was quoted at 1700 incl vat (not fitted) exhaust and sports cat xtra which brought it up to £2300 (ball park) .

Doin it properly .. brembros , pss9's , clutch, intercooler possible quaife , sports cat , exhaust, monster airfilter and now the 2300-2800 kit price is gonna take the price near the 5.5k mark ..(sure to have left summat out here !!)
which agreed is still performance for yer money but a bit hard to swallow

A 13k( brand new) mota and 5.5k = 18.5k brand new mota with 340 ish BHP.....i dont think there is anything on the market today that would beat that deal .. hence the reason for me pursuing it regardless!!
