View Full Version : how do you turn off the airbag light on a mk2 ibiza ?
my mate has just bought a mk2 ibiza cupra 2l 16v , that had a brang ! it is all fixed now with new airbags but he still has the light on ! how can it be turned off ?
are they activated?
does he mind if they work or not?
if not - remove the bulb. :)
The lights supposed to go off if the ecu is reset. Disconnect the battery for a few hours. If the light goes off, bingo.... if not, there may be a fault with the new airbag :(
nice on i have told him so we will just have to wait and see ! it's mot time for him tomorrow so fingers crossed :)
they've not noticed on the last 2 i've had,like to see em try and test it anyway,"bang,yes the air bags work,now put them back in the steering wheel":p
didn't work any more ideas !
has he replaced the control unit as well ?
if so he'll still need the ecu reset to remove the
"BAGS HAVE BLOWN" fault code
personally i would get a 1551 or vag com check done to see what is causing the warning first
