As Revo cost in the region of £620 inc. controller don't you think for that sort of money you should at least get a rolling road report of the before and after output to prove it is working correctly.
All I got was a credit card reciept, no warrenty or proof that it has been done. eg. good selling point to a private buyer.
I know for a fact I wouldnt spend that sort of money on anything else without some sort of proper reciept.
Depending on where you get it done, you should get a proper invoice, not just a credit card slip, contact whoever did it for you and get them to produce an invoice for your records, they should be happy to oblige, and if they aint mail kev@revotechnik.com

yeah i agree for the time and money it actually takes to install it you should get a rolling road. But not every place that sells revo has a rolling road
you can frig a rolling road anyway - so whats the point?
change the ambient temp on a RR & all of a sudden the power goes up or down.
Invoice is a must - else you really have zero comeback.

My scepticle wife asked how do I now it had been done?
Does it does what they said?
How can you tell?
I know it is definitely faster but by how much?
Is a rolling road the only way to find out?
Can you attached a laptap to tell you what is happening and then get a print out?
I would just like a hard copy of the difference in output for my own curiosity.
I do have a scribbled receipt but for £762 I feel I should have a bit more.
I guess you have an SPS unit for that
Do you really want to spend £40 to get 2 dyno's done for a before & after just to know?
If yes, then get it dyno'd
VAG-COM is close - but not as close as a std car (as it calculates it from known figures, that have changed) if that makes sense

I dont want to spend any more.
For the money already spent I think it should be included. Thats all.

Did you ASK all this before hand?
VAG-COM can give you some indication on as-is performance post REVO from datalogging torque output. Similar kind of results to a RR usually.
A RR proves very little in reality.
There's a RR in October elswhere on this forum so if you really wanted to see how it fares compared to others on the same RR on the same day this would be your best bet. (very cheap too)
You should of course have a proper receipt for the work done. Have you asked for one? If the reflash was done in the field so tp speak it might be in the post to you... (just guessing)

you don't find the sort of power gains claimed in these sorts of conversions by just reoptimising the fuel and ignition timing, basically you have to increase boost pressure to get more air into the engine so you can burn more fuel. therefore it should be a simple check with VAG-com or just a boost gauge to see if after the conversion you are running a higher boost. Sure this doesn't actually mean you gonna get more power, but at least it does confirm that you have got something changed for your money!
When we complete REVO upgrades for customers, they first get a 'before and after drive', we take them out on a 10-15 mile test drive, and switch the REVO software on, halfway out.
So far all our customers have noticed a big difference in the first 30-60 seconds on the REVO settings as the adaption works through it gets even better.
Our customers get a printed, headed receipt with their name, address, registration number and ecu code. This forms their guarantee which should be honoured by ANY REVO dealer.
As to a rolling road test, I don't have easy access to one and the Quattros can't use any old RR, they need a 4WD one, which aren't that common around here. We do however alter settings for customers who don't want the 'standard' REVO map, upping the boost and advancing the timing for Optimax users or backing off the boost for drivers who do a lot of in-town driving.
If a customer can't tell the difference after a 'before and after' test, I wouldn't take their money, but they wouldn't keep the remap either ;-).
I was about to suggest that,
Q: How do you know that Revo has actually installed
A: Because you can actually feel the difference.

You seem to be getting it confused.
I'm not saying I need proof to tell if it works. I know it does just by driving. An amazing difference and I wouldn't be without it.
Makes driving an absolute pleasure and full marks to REVO for an excellent product.
All I'm saying it would be nice to have a bit of paper stating what BHP / torque it now has, after all isn't that what the rolling road meet is all about.
Everyone knows they have increased power from upgrades etc but they want to see for themselves exactly how much and compare it with others.
People ask me what power it is now and I tell them it is 230 bhp but how do I really know for sure? In the world of facts and figures it would be nice to be accurate.
And have this included in the price.

RR's vary so much.... so the best gauge of how yours performs on that RR day is against other cars on the same RR on the same day... Comparitive figures more than absolute.
