View Full Version : Debadging
I've ordered a chrome 20VT badge and an additional Cupra badge from a local dealer and intend to fit both to the rear of the Beeza. Both should be arriving on Monday. In the meantime I shall be removing the existing Cupra badge from the rear of the car plus an insanely crap Turbo badge added by the previous owner.
How do I do this effectively and what's the best way to remove any residual adhesive from the paintwork please?
use some thing like fishing line or a soft spreader to take the badge off then just heat the remainig adehsive with an hair dryer so soften it
Think somone suggested dental floss to use as well once. Use it in a sawing motion behind the badge and then use heat to get the rest off.

a flat bit of plastic will work with a hairdryer as it wont scratch. then tcut/colour polish the area afterwards.
Best thing to get the sticky cr@p off is pure alcohol. (No, not vodka!). Isopropyl or similar.
I used the dental floss method to remove the badges with the 'sawing motion' and then cleaned the excess adhesive of with a small amount of tar remover .

Thanx folks, lotsa good advice there.
