First of all, I apologise if this seems like a dumb question, but I haven't managed to figure it out from the existing posts

It seems that there is an ecu remap for the 1.9tdi engines, basing myself on the revo website (038 906 019DQ 03>NEW IBIZA 130PD )

Does this work for all 1.9 PD engines, i.e. 115, 130 and 150bhp?

I understand you may not yet have powergraphs for this, but any indication of the gains? I'm interested for possible sorting out two cars: one Alhambra TDi 115 and one Seat Ibiza or Fabia vRS (130).

Presumably, they use the same ecu's across the board, so a 130 ibiza has the same ecu as the fabia, and as the VW Golf 130 PD ?

Anyone actually had it fitted to their Beezer 130 sport and can give a description on performance difference?

Cheers :)

there are 2 revo'd Ibiza 130's with RR plots if you follow the link below

Cheers for that mark.

Crikey. 130 -> 180 ?!? And the remap is the only mod ? Seems quite cheap for a modest £499+vat

Is that circa-180bhp only applicable for a tdi130 or also for other tdi PD engines? I guess it's prolly only the 130 because I think the revo maps are specifically matched to a particular ECU. But I thought the only difference between a 115 and 130 was the ECU. I asked a VW dealer (in France) and he said that was the case. The 150 engine has reinforced pistons / conrods though according to him.

So, aren't you overstressing the engine mechanically with that much power if you should normally have different / stronger engine components for a factory 150bhp ?

the 115 engine is different to the 130 by much more than just the ECU

the 150 engine can see 192bhp I think

I'm running a revo'd 150, have been for the last 40000km with no problems. There are a couple of different ECU codes used for the 130 engine. I'm pretty sure the guys from Revo have done most if not all of the different ECU.

Strange that. I wondered if the VW chap was telling the entire truth ;)

I think I'd settle for 180. I'm thinking of getting a new car, and personally, prefer TD's to Unleaded cos in my books, it's just as fun, but easier on the wallet.

Now that the Fabia vRS is out and relatively cheap, it could be an interesting option IF the ecu on the vRS matches that of the 130 Beezer Sport.

Even if the various 130 ECUs are compatible they may not be able to run the same code. Back at the above mentioned RR day Revo people mentioned they had tried the Ibiza code on a Golf and ended up with a dead clutch on the Golf.

I'm sure that if you got a vRS that it wouldn't take long for the correct code to be adapted to the Skoda variant of the 130 engine and you'd be playing with the Dirty Racers in no time.

As Rage stated the Revo Ibiza 130 code is tuned vehicle specific, we can get away with a little more torque due to weight of the Ibiza. A similar code in a Golf will cause clutch slip due to the heavier vehicle.

I think your VW guy was going by the nature of repair procedures when he stated all 130pd and 115pd engines are the same bar the ECU. If he inspected the internal parts he would notice a few more differences. On average the 115 can software tuned to around 150 quite safely and the 130 goes to around 180 in the same manor.

We are currently working on the 100bhp PD Ibiza (038 906 019ht). Nearly complete and once we have figures I will let you know.

As far as the Skoda 130 is concerned we have yet to see this car. We would need to source a car for 1 weeks worth of tuning and I would expect very similar results to the 130 Ibiza.

I would imagine you'd receive some free tuning mate, give them a ring.

If you have the car and could tell us the ECU number then we would be able to determine whether or not that is shared with the PD130's. I imagine it will be different so we will require some time with a car to tune it, rather than altering Ibiza software to suit.
Give us a call on 01327 301 901 if you've got the car and we can book at date for tuning!

If things do all go to plan, sorry for the dumb question, but where can I find out the ECU number?
Also, are there any adverse effects having a car tuned before it's run in? Is there a recommended mileage for changing an ECU program?

Its printed on the ECU ( silver box under the bonnet, passenger side right beneath the windscreen )

Thanks for that.
I may pop out and have a look at the car and take some notes.
I'll let you know what it is.

Cheers :)

Hi,
I have a black Fabia vRS, now 2 weeks old and less than 300miles -- special order from my local skoda dealer.... :D

with ref to the boost increase of the 130BHP engine, I am looking into getting one of these but I am very unsure to the requirements of the engine due to the unknown issues of the fabia vRS. With a little help I am sure I will get there ?!
A little bit more info required guys

Also the car still seems to sit rather high on its suspension, probably due to its 205/45/16 tyres even with a 15mm drop from standard fabias, any help to mechanical drop interest :p ;)

Hi LastManStanding.

If you have a fabia, you may want to take a look at the other good forum, more devoted to skodas. www.briskoda.net

I think I may in fact go for a Jabba remap. One chap is having it done in the next day or two on his fabia vrs, and jabbasport will prolly take all morning tweaking it for best results. Also, their map is a little cheaper - and if you book it soon, you'll get 10% discount, so that makes it around £380 for I believe a full custom remap...

The briskoda forum is really friendly, and as it's devoted to skoda, i wouldn't want to annoy anyone here who may frown on them ;) :D

Cheers,

if you could keep me advised to the outcome / results of the vrs you know about being looked at shortly it would be very appraciated.

cheers;)

We are currently tuning the Fabia vRS 130PD. Hopefully tomorrow will see the final dyno and we can release to our dealers next week.
I have been trying to post this on Briskoda but there is a problem with my password.
The question I would like to ask the owners of the Fabia vRS 130 is How is the handling on their cars? The one I am using does not like corners! For a sportier spec this is very disconcerting to the driver. The best I can explain how this one reacts is, it is like the transit chocks are still in the rear springs, hence a very sudden loss of traction half way round a bend. I seriously hope this one car has a fault. Has anyone else noticed this.

I know this is in totally the wrong place and I will post the same on Briskoda tomorrow.

can't wait to hear about the tuning details on the vRS, however i can say that i have not had the handling experience you are talking about, please give details of occurance ie: speed, corner taken, weather etc.
I will see if i can "convince" my vRS to comply!!

Every roundabout the rear seems to skip. Normal driving in any condition?
Car is now back with the dealer but I should get it back this week to finish the Revo program.
