Hi,

This is my first post, so please don't flame me. I have had my Mk1 Leon Cupra TDi for about 2 weeks and have decided to upgrade the standard Aura Tape Headunit to a Becker Grand Prix 7992 Headunit, after reading all the positive praises on this forum. This is the first time I will be doing an install myself. I already have the following items:

Becker Headunit
Seat Leon Fascia adapter
Aerial adapter
ISO adapter

From watching previous radio installations I have always noticed a cage insert to install the radio, but the Becker does not appear to have a cage. The installation guide seems to very minimal in the manual, so I am just wondering what else would be needed. I know that there is some rewiring needed. I would also like to have the Aura CD changer work with this, though I am not too fussed if it won't. I don't have an Ipod and don't intend to get one just to use in the car, so I do not have the Ipod adapter for the Becker. I would appreciate if anybody has an install guide for the Mk1 Leon. I am a newbie, so any help would be much appreciated.

Also what would be the best way to feed the microphone for the Bluetooth handsfree and what would be the best place to stick it?

Thanks in advance,

Ooms

iirc becker dont have cages, the prongs to hold it in are part of the unit.
you can either purchase a pc2-69-4 in order to swap the permanent and ignition round or cut into your exhisting loom to switch them, whichever you prefer.
feed the microphone by removing the underside of the dash on the driver side.
4 bolts underneath and 3 iirc on the side where the fusebox cover is.
then pull back door seal and then you can feed cable up the a pillar.
microphone mounting can be personal preference,i have always fitted them top right corner of windscreen unless the customer specifically asks for centre mounting
