Very interresting indeed - http://www.ifrance.fr/oettinger/seat/leon/leon215.htm

Can someone comment on Oettinger?

I am also interrested to know how much do you pay insurance wise for a Leon Cupra. How much more would it be with this kind of kit?

My own Leon is running a 205bhp conversion utilising the Oettinger chip. It was fitted by RSD (Road & Sport Developments) in Banbury.

The official site for Oettinger is here http://www.oettinger.com/web_en/produkte/seat_leon/index.htm

Click on Engines for the english info on the chip.

The chip is TUV guaranteed to produce 195bhp on a standard 1.8 20VT Engine, its a good upgrade providing a big increase in torque which the Leon really lacks as standard.

Mine is running more due to me, having the Oettinger Exhaust, and intake modification too.

The boost comes in slightly later than before, but wow when it does come its awesome. http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/biggrin.gif

The most impressive thing is the torque levels though the car now pulls and pulls http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/smile.gif

Price fitted by RSD is around £800 which will include a 3 year warranty, covering certain items if they were to be damaged due to the chip, though this is highly unlikely its good piece of mind to know your protected if something was to happen.

Insurance really depends on the company your with, what they are like with mods, some insurance companies dont want to know or rocket the costs sky high.

Im personally with Direct Line and have found them to be very kind on premiums associated with certain mods. My car has in effect had a 10% power increase, they added around £70 to my premium which i felt was fair considering the mods.

Depends obviously on age of driver, car, risk involved etc, i know Direct Line dont like crazy expensive bodykits, and they do raise the premium a bit for suspension mods, but they seem to have a very fair clear plan on how to price modifications in general.

Another chip to try is AmD, this is a little cheaper than the Oettinger, but only comes with 12 months warranty.
