Here goes...

REVO reflash of your ecu installs performance code into your ECU. Its a rechip without actually having to go into an ECU physically or desolder things etc.

Options on Reflash code include different fuel pressure regulator settings. Std is 3bar, and 4bar are for more aggressive performance settigns. 4bar programmes require a 4 bar fuel pressure regulator to be fitted also.

You also have the SPS options which are Serial Port Switch boxes.
SPS1 is 2 position switchable from performance to stock mode
SPS2 is 4 position switchable from stock to 95UL to 98UL to security settings
SPS3 has stock mode, security mode, and in addition has boost control and ignition control settings. These settings take you over and above a stock performance code and are for people who have other mods, run higher octane fuels, do drag racing, sprints, track days etc.... Prudent use of these enhanced features is strongly advised. (there is a disclaimer on SPS3)
Inappropriate use of SPS3 will more than likely result in a slower car, as the requested settings may nudge into the ECU's safety zone, and the ecu in these instances will wind safe and pull power out of the engine for self preservation. Less is more.

Pricing is £499 for a 4cyl car.
SPS1 is £150, SPS2 is £200, SPS3 is £250
(all prices are plus vat)

www.revotechnik.com has information for you to look over.

They are ECU numbers...
REVO code is ECU specific so they use the ECU part numbers to match against.

Thanks again Bill

Where are you based, I take it you 'do' Revo??

How long does it take?
What is the Procedure??
Are there any test/rolling road type stuff done for before and after??
If I did bring it over for you to do Bill, could you do the fuel pressure regulator to?

Chears again

Takes no more than 10 mins.
Laptop plugged into the diag port and software uploaded from a laptop.
Normally no rolling road outputs come with the software.

Get it done at Stealth Racing at Southam. They have a RR....

This may sound really cheeky coming from a noob, but has anyone heard of discounts being offered on Revo? Most places I've seen are advertising at RRP.

it's called a well maintained pricing strategy

however - many resellers offer 'favourable' rates for additional products like DV's etc

So not anti-competitive price fixing then? ;)

I'm not au fait with how the pricing works but if you don't carry stock or have any capital investment then you might evade the rules. It might be a bit like network marketing or there is a comission paid per unit installed.

As for incentives, Amber (in Discount forum) were doing a promo a few months back which was something along the lines of a free K&N or DV. If you're local to Luton then it might be worth a phone cal to see what other promos are going off.

I am based nr Glos..
On a petrol 20VT DBW its about 20mins to do basic install and checks etc.

No RR from me tho. Vag-Com datalog of motor is possible tho which is more real time real road measurements than a static RR.
Initial results post Reflash would be lower than when fully adapted which takes a few miles to happen. Typically, once reflashed the cars just feels better and better the next few days as it adapts.

I could do FPR yea. You have one? 4bar.

I would like to also take this moment to thank Bill @ badger5 for his time and help with making the decision to have it done.

Also thanks to the guys at Revo for firstly creating this software and thanks for answering all my stupid questions when I spoke to you on the phone!....

(Just one small thing though..... Shame you took out the ability to change the ignition timing and the boost level when Revo is installed on the car! :( )

I am thinking of getting a Revo remap and was wonder ing if instead of having the two maps for different grades of petrol, could you have two maps for 98ron fuel (all I use anyway). One for fast and one for Scooby slaying?

Steve

PS I used to own a Scoob so am allowed to make the last comment :D

Shame you took out the ability to change the ignition timing and the boost level when Revo is installed on the car!

That's what an SPS 3 is for, if you buy one then you can alter the Boost/timing levels yourself. We've never taken out the ability to do this!

Steve, just buy an SPS 3 and set the car to Scooby slaying levels whenever you want!

Can you not predetrmine 2 maps for the SPS or are they set?

I wouldn't trust myself with a SPS3!

The SPS 2 is set to 95 and 98ron specific, why wouldn't you trust yourself with an SPS 3? All the safety parameters are in place, all you are doing with it is requesting specified values that will only be achieved if all of the engine sensors are working within their specified limits. You can only alter the boost/timing between set parameters as well!

Yer i had an SPS2, but ive now got an SPS3, and there is far more flexibility for making the car run better.

For instance i've just filled up on that new BP Ultimate Uleaded, and found the car was a little flat, so i adjusted the timing, and roberts your fathers brother, the car performs a load better.

It gives the flexibility to control the map for conditions, ie low boost for when you do want a little more control in crappy weather conditions, and when its dry bang on the high boost for more power and fun :)

Dodgy batch of fuel, or some top quality fuel, or even race fuel, adjust the timing to get the best out of it.
