Weitec Hicon GT Coilover Suspension Kit - Leon 1M 1.4, 1.6, 1.8, Cupra 1.8T, Cupra R 1.8T, 19SDi, 1.9TDi, Cupra 1.9TDi, FR 1.9TDi 09/99>

Just wondered if you could clear something up for me,how do you adjust the ride height? Is it from the top of the struts, do you have to take wheel off or am I just being a real novice with coilovers and making myself look a fool. Also would I have to change arbs or anything else if I was to buy this kit?
Thanks

change the height with the supplied spanner on the adjuster rings.

wheel doesnt need to come off, but may need to jack up to get to it. sometimes you dont need to though.

arbs if lowering more than 50mm...or adjustable droplinks.

James has done the job for me but you do normally need to take the wheel off as it's a lot easier if you do.

How much difference is there between this kit and the Jom coilovers? Im only interested in coilovers due to adjusting ride height, car is never going to be tracked or thrown around many bends. Without stating the obvious (because of the price) what would you recommend?
Sorry to be a pain in the.......

You're not being a pain.

They are double the price but I'd say they're twice as good in terms of quality and handling. The JOM is a great kit for the money but with the Weitec's being on special with nearly £100 off they're the ones I'd personally go for if you can stretch to them.

id go for the joms if your not bothered on handling etc etc.

spend the extra 200 quid on other mods....

damien may say otherwise though.

weitec obviously better product.

If you just want it low and don't want to spend too much then the JOM's are a good option but if you're more bothered about handling and can afford it then go for the Weitec's.

I prob sound daft but what are the droplonks for? Are they a shortened version or what? If someone could explain what they do. Thanks

Drop links are what attach the ARB. The adjustable ones are basically adjustable in length so you can shorten them to move the ARB away from the driveshaft.
