Hi folks,

House moving from Edinburgh down to the Borders next month - which will see a fair increase in commuting mileage for my wife and I and I'm considering this might be a good time to switch my Cordoba SX for a TDI.

Handily enough, I'll be about 2 mins away from the local dealership :)

Anybody dealt with these guys before?

I'm originaly from the borders, I'll ask my mates and see what I can find out for you.

OK, spoke to one of my mates back in the Borders. He's in the auto trade so has some dealings with Rutherfords.

He says the Rutherfords parts people are top-notch. He hasn't had any experience with the sales side but certainly hasn't heard anything bad about them.

From my experience you should get a more personal service from any of the smaller garages in the borders than the big ones up in Edinburgh.

Hope this helps.

That's good news. Thanks for taking the time to investigate.

I'll pop in and say hello to them once we've settled in and know how much money I can spend :)

Must remember to mention seatcupra.net too.

(Noticed they've had a Kiwi Cordoba SX a year younger than mine up for sale for a couple of months now. I'm thinking they're not going to be too interested in taking mine off me for a good price!)

Wow - that was an old post!

I've bought 3 cars from Rutherfords now and they have long since provided me with outstanding service. Very friendly bunch indeed (esp Jim, Susan and Brian) and I must say I felt guilty when I just picked up my A6 last week. With luck they will be able to maintain my Audi.
