Remove Fuel Pump from Ibiza CL 1.0 1995 M

Hi,

Hope someone can help!! I need to replace the fuel pump in my Ibiza CL 1995. I've accessed the pump under the rear seat undone the lid but I can't seem to remove the pump from the fuel tank!! It just seems to be stuck, can anyone advise on the correct procedure to remove the pump!

there is a big black 'ring' to unscrew 1st

well worth getting a haynes as it details stuff you might misslike aligning pins etc
